Great atmosphere with tasty beverages and food. I had the turkey club with onion rings and it was delicious. Our server (bartender) was very friendly and attentive.

Visited Monkey Town on Monday night, 1/19/2026. This was once one of our favorite places, but over the last several months the quality has noticeably declined.

Service has been consistently poor for months. Servers are difficult to find, follow up is lacking, and there is a clear need for better training.

The bigger concern, however, is the food. My salmon was slimy and raw. The baked potato was cold and undercooked, and instead of being properly remade, the foil was removed and it was microwaved after toppings had already been added. My son’s mac and cheese was congealed and dried out.

The couple seated beside us was served a chicken sandwich with raw chicken after a significant delay in receiving their meals. These are basic food safety issues.

We have given this restaurant multiple chances to improve. At this point, we will not be returning. Management needs to address both staff training and kitchen practices before someone gets sick.

I was having a great Thursday evening 1/15/26.The appetizers were wonderful we were all enjoyingthem, our group’s banter was flowing and we were excited for out food. When the waitress brought me my food and my broccoli was missing, I wasn’t worried I was enjoying the conversation. I ordered the salmon dish and I started eating I noticed it was a bit raw it looked like a rare steak. I tried to get the cooked parts and leave the uncooked part when the waitress came by she said they can take it off or have another brought out to me, then she came back and said their wasn’t anything they could do because i had eaten it. Now thats just ridiculous I was with people and I wasn’t interested in ruining my night over that. My girlfriends ribs were also dry, my standards are very particular but these guys just had shitty customer service, If you offer to fix the problem make sure it happens im not going with friends and family to skimp the restaurant absolutely ridiculous.

Three of us went there on a Saturday night. My wife started out with a hazy IPA and it was wonderful. I ordered a flight. All four beer selections were excellent! For dinner my son had the Seafood New Orleans. It looked good and my son really enjoyed it. I’m not a big burger fan but chose the Elvis Burger which is a hamburger with french fried onion ring, bacon, BBQ sauce. It was really tasty. My wife had the boneless grilled chicken. It was okay but the portion size was tiny. Overall the experience was good only ruined by our server who was mostly non-existent during the evening and when we did see her, she seemed very serious as though she didn’t want to be there.

This was a nice surprise! Very cool atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious! All fresh, hot, and filling! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of items on their menu. Great place for a date night or a family get-together. Best catfish I think I’ve ever had and is plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints. Highly recommend a day out to explore Dayton TN and to try this restaurant. Open daily, so lunch or dinner, it’s worth visiting!

If there were such a thing as a 7-star review, Monkey Town Brewing Company in Dayton, TN would wear it like a badge of honor.

After 34 years of shared adventures, my wife and I thought we’d seen it all—until Monkey Town Brewing stunned us with a masterclass in hospitality, flavor, and thoughtful design. From the moment we walked in, the attention to detail in the décor whispered stories of Dayton’s rich heritage, blending rustic charm with a modern pulse that felt both familiar and fresh.

The Tomato Soup deserves its own standing ovation. My bride, not one to toss out superlatives lightly, declared it “the best she has ever had.” That’s not just praise—it’s legacy-level culinary achievement.

The “put It in Reverse” IPA was a revelation. Cleverly named and brilliantly brewed, it paired perfectly with the town’s historical backdrop—especially the nod to evolutionary theory, which felt like a poetic wink to Dayton’s Scopes Trial legacy. This isn’t just beer; it’s storytelling in a glass.

And then there was Grace—our spectacular waitress. Informative, kind, and effortlessly engaging, she elevated the entire experience. Grace didn’t just serve us; she guided us through the menu like a seasoned curator of joy. Her warmth and knowledge deserve public recognition. If Monkey Town Brewing is the heart of Dayton, Grace is its soul.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is more than a brewery—it’s a celebration of craft, community, and care. Monkey Town Brewing doesn’t just meet expectations

Our waitress was pretty much non existent. She took our food order, after a long wait for her to come over and even acknowledge us. We didn’t see her again until she brought our check. Never once asked us if our food was ok, if we needed any refills on our drinks or if we wanted to order dessert. I actually had to go to the bar to pay our check after we left our debit cards on the table for over an hour waiting for her to come and process our payment. Food was decent but i don’t think we will be back.

First time here, but I’ll be back. Bartender (?) was attentive, friendly & very pleasant. I went with Amber Waves of Grain ale, & one of their weekly special sandwiches – the Sweet & Tangy Fried Chicken sandwich. It was amazing! & huge – half came home with me, & I can eat!
Anyway, I’ll definitely be back with some friends, even if we’re from Maryville!

This place is amazing. The fish tacos were on point – definitely did not expect it from a small brewery in Dayton, but what a great find. My wife had the chicken salad on a large croissant and onion rings (the onion rings were AMAZING!) and said it was great.

We are not beer drinkers, but I did not hear any complaints from other patrons about food or beverages. Definitely worth giving them a try if you are in or going through Dayton!

You will not be disappointed!

Great food great beers great service! Chicken sandwich is massive. Flight is 4, but we could only narrow choices down to 5 with so many tasty options. Stout for the win.
Chose it while traveling because we were delighted it offers dog friendly eating section outside.
(Just to note: although it’s listed as non-smoking, the dog-friendly area is bordered by a sidewalk/fence that people do come stand to smoke outside the restaurant, which is disappointingly right at these pup tables. )
