Absolutely fantastic experience! We had to come back again because we loved it so much the first time. I was in town for eye surgery @ the University & we needed something that was close to our hotel & that gluten free options. We loved our service both times. The first time we had a girl and she was super attentive and very nice. The second time (yesterday) we had a taller guy that had just graduated from U of Iowa last year he had said. They both added to the experience. It takes a lot to wow my mom 🙂 They both were above and beyond. The bruschetta was the BEST we have ever had. Superb!! The artichoke dip was very good too, but the bruschetta definitely won us over. I had a sandwich and potatoes the first time and yesterday I had the tilapia, potatoes, pear salad and gluten free cheesecake. The atmophere is really cool too. They have a lot of Hawkeyes sports decor and their pizzas are even named after players and coaches which is really neat way to celebrate the sports culture. Both times we came around 2:30, so it wasn’t busy at all. We were able to socialize easily. The music was at a nice volume as well. They have tvs around also and a nice bar area. We will definitely return when Im back for my follow up eye appointments. Thanks again to both our waitress and waiter. Keep it up!

Been ordering take out from Monicas for a few weeks now. Tried the lasagna twice, and thus far, stouffers beats this stuff hands down! Cheese has been cooked to browned both times. Can barely cut it with a knife. Over salted, lack of ricotta, ZERO sauce along with no structure. Save yourself a few bucks and run by Walmart frozen food section. You’ll thank me!

Our first time at Monica’s was amazing! We were immediately seated, even on a busy night. Monica herself checked in on us and our waiter made perfect recommendations. It had a very personal feel in a college town setting. The brick oven pizza was fantastic with high-quality ingredients, honestly, it reminded me of pizza we had in Italy with the mozzarella. My wife had a glazed walnut pear salad that she raved about, especially with the fried brie cheese. We were extremely satisfied and are looking forward to coming back again soon. We highly recommend Monica’s for the food, the service, and the setting!

Your taste buds will love you, and your stomach will hate you! I definitely overate and feel like a beached whale. Definitely, don’t drive afterward because so much love was put into that food that you’ll go into a food coma.

I visit whenever I can when I’m in the area. I cannot have gluten and they have a large gluten free menu that includes dessert. They also offer gluten free bread. Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious, and the service is always very good. Highly recommend.

Only came for the desert. Bread pudding and Amish pie. We were seated right away. Server was timely and took our order and we enjoyed our dessert. Both were delicious. Can’t go wrong with these. The music through the speakers was appropriate and not too loud.

Wonderful and definitely a treat. We loved everything we tasted, along with the classy meets old school type (in a good way!) of an atmosphere. Extremely gluten free knowledgeable and accommodating with an extensive separate menu. The gluten free buns, oh my! Totally worth the $1 charge as they are made from a local bakery and to die for! All the cocktails are made in-house with no pre-made mixes so nothing to worry about by there, either. Our waitress was on it with everything and all the food was excellent. Highly recommend!
