Great experience at Momoya Chelsea.
Food was very fresh and tasty. We went for sushi rolls, sashimi platter as well as corn soup. For dessert we went for mochi ice cream and lava cake.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and were impressed by the food.
Service was excellent as well.
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great place to eat in Chelsea.

Momoya Chelsea was such a pleasant surprise! The Tuna Tortilla? Shockingly good like, why is it THAT good? Sashimi was fresh and perfect. I finally tried crispy rice for the first time and now I’m obsessed. The salmon crunchy was yum, and the Black Dynamite roll gave kimbap vibes (not my fave but still good!). But the crispy shrimp… get it. Don’t think, just get it. Enjoyed the meal, would totally go again~

We had a wonderful dinner at Momoya Chelsea! The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, and the service was great. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful — the miso soup was comforting, the sushi rolls were excellent, and the dim sum was a pleasant surprise. Ordered through grubhub my order came missing, they refused to give me the reat of the missing rolls and claimed they couldn’t see it on the system even though I sent a screenshot specifying what was missing, worst experience ever. Honestly food was good in the restaurant, however service was terrible. They were very rude to us as soon as we arrived they kept nagging and asking about what we would order several times and then later they asked us about the cheque as soon as we finished the food, and then to pay immediately, food came fast though to be fair. Would’ve came again for the sushi but service made it my first yet the last time to come here.

A quick late luncheon. Genuinely welcomed with a smile. Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff. Team work with smiles floating on the floor by all FOH staff- servers and bussers- attention to details by all staff, they always come back to check if one is enjoying one’s meal. Thank you- Faula, Fearn and team! Thoroughly enjoyed my sumptuous meal. Can’t wait to be back with friends. Kudos management for very well trained staff in a professional manner. Unagi don was delicious! Cooked perfectly and the sauce was just the right amount. The portions seemed quite generous too as I was very full after! For lunch it comes with a miso soup or salad as well.

I went here for a late solo lunch. The sushi was decent and the staff was very nice. The only complaint I have was that I was seated right next to the kitchen where wait staff comes and goes, so it was a little disruptive. I thought it was weird too since there were a lot of more favorable seats open in the restaurant and it wasn’t crowded at all. So that was a little disappointing.

This place has quietly become one of my favorite neighborhood spots. It feels elevated but still comfortable enough to come regularly. The sushi is consistently fresh and everything is perfectly seasoned. I’m particularly picky with my sushi but you can tell they care about quality here. The menu has a really nice balance of classic rolls and more creative options. I also love their spicy crispy shrimp and miso black cod. The shrimp has the perfect crisp without being greasy and the cod is flaky and not too sweet. It’s reliable in that I consistently get good service and food. It’s getting harder to find restaurants in NYC that are consistent. The service is great and everyone is attentive. It’s a solid go-to and definitely one of Chelsea’s gems.

Place was pretty solid in terms of its sushi offerings, and the service was great. A bit on the pricier side, but it did taste fresh. Probably would bring people here for a splurge when I’m feeling fancy.

Had a good meal here. You can tell the sushi was fresh and well made. Started with the spicy crispy shrimp. That was delicious with some avocado. Had the shrimp tempura rolls and the California rolls. Also had the black cod which came with a pumpkin puree and spinach which was also good. Loved their crème brûlée the best though. Would go back for that and their green tea.
