Very happy to find this spot recently opened in Langley 🙂 The quality of seafood was great! The crab was generous, fresh and sweet, and the spicy tuna was super flavorful and satisfying. Absolutely hit the spot loading up the dried seaweed with a bit of everything. The space is bright and lovely with a nice view of the water and main street, but not really built for eating in with a group as they’ve got one communal table set up. Would love to try the salmon next time (was sold out today) and looking forward to them expanding their hours and days of operation!

Fantastic poke bowls! My husband and I both got the hamachi bowls (picture is missing a piece because I ate it too quickly!). The bowl was perfectly portioned for an adult. Every ingredient in the bowl was delicious and well thought out and everything (including the wasabi) was super fresh and vibrant!
Price point was a bit expensive, but makes sense with the quality of ingredients and flavor (about $25-30 range per poke bowl).
We live in Oak Harbor and were looking for a good sushi/poke spot to go to on our way home from work, and I think we found it! We will definitely be going back.

The host was happy to explain their menu and we decided on the Poke Pair. We got to walk around while we waited for our food. It was very yummy!

I went there with my mom and they were not very busy which was nice, I order the something or other box and my mom order the tangy tuna. We got it to go, because the shop did not smell very good which I suppose is to be expected when working with fish. It took around 35 minutes for our order to be ready. The food was great though, you could roll your own sushi rolls which I thought was fun, and it was a good amount of food as well. Great place!

Visited at the Bayview farmers market for Poke. They said they usually sell out at 1:30pm or 12:30 on a busy summer day. Makes sense after eating it! The scallop poke was so good, made my day to try it for the first time.

Thanks for letting me sample your fish at the farmers market!! salmon was fire.
Sadly we were only there for a weekend so couldn’t order ahead – only realized this once we came to the shop and saw it closed despite listing as open. Some customers had to help us out with the ordering inquiry

This is going to turn into a weekly habit for me. I LOVE Mommafish. The fish is fresh and bright, the menu is small (which I love), the location is adorable, the owner/chef is amazing, and everything about this place is wonderful.
It is take out, so grab your sushi bowl and head across the street to look at the sound while you eat. Go early so that you can get there before they sell out. If you have a chance to go to the events, I highly recommend that as well.

Very disappointed in the food, given the 5-star reviews and recent participation in TV show
The portions are super tiny, and quite expensive. We left hungry and went elsewhere for a meal.
They are also ridiculously expensive.
They serve their sushi as bowls, which looks more like poke on a paper tray than sushi.
I wouldn’t classify this as chirashi, since rice was too soft, slightly overcooked, and it didn’t taste marinated at all.
Ikura and eel were nice, but nothing to write home about. Tuna had texture of jam, possibly the worst piece of tuna I’ve tried in sushi.
I don’t think I’ll be back on my next visit to the island.

This place looks great, but they’re only open for pre orders (I think you have to order by Wednesday for Friday pick up, but I could be wrong). That is unclear on their website so we were disappointed when we showed up to grab sushi on Friday but the sign on the door said they’re only open to pick up pre orders.

I sent my parents here for their anniversary and the owner went above and beyond to make sure they had a place to sit and delicious food! My parents loved the food, especially the salmon. Thank you! 🙂
