Hmm. Eaten here about 6 times. The wait is always long, whether take out or dining in. Today was takeout and I t just kind of solidified that I won’t come here myself. Ordered a regular sushi lunch special and notified staff of an avocado allergy; also asked for substitutions like cucumber for any that come with it. On the salmon, I got little to no cucumber and on the eel I got DOUBLE cucumber. I tried scraping the avocado out (as the allergy isn’t severe, however the eel pieces were small and removing the avocado destroyed the roll entirely…. Pics attached. I’m not mad, just disappointed. I’ve had other entrees too and the flavor profile just doesn’t quite hit the mark so that’s the 3 stars there. Service is always polite, but at times not prompt. This isn’t due to rude behavior or dismissiveness, I think they just have other tasks and usually only keep one waitress/ server around which causes delays. Atmosphere is nice enough but despite the tapestries, the walls are a bit bare and the whole place feels like it hasn’t fully come into being. Perhaps utilizing some room dividers for the main dining area would add to the feng shui? But then again, there’s a space in the back I’ve never seen used so it’s hard to say.

Came in from the cold looking for soup! Some of the best clear soup of my life. Also had a salmon tartare and agedashi tofu. Very very good. My sister got a steak meal. the steak was a bit bland to me, but she enjoyed it so that’s what’s important!

Such a high quality sushi restaurant- especially for a land locked state. Not only that but being in Caldwell. A wide variety of menu options at a very reasonable price. HIGHLY recommend the Happy Plate for a family of four.

Gave this place another shot – food was even better than I remembered & service definitely improved. The vibe still had an oddness but doesn’t matter, already thinking about next visit!! Also great drinks and fair prices.

I think it helped to know beforehand that this place is taking over one before it, and that it still hasn’t fully transitioned. The vibe of the staff was so uncomfortable I wanted to leave but I put it aside because other reviewers said the sushi was really great. They aren’t wrong, and it ended up being worth the money to enjoy. The service was quick because it was basically empty in there. Combined with wanting to get out of the place, we were done and left within 45min. The whole atmosphere was awful and only gets two stars because of the sushi display itself. The decor would have been fine if it wasn’t for the music (K-Pop??) that didn’t quite match the vibe??
I’ve never quite experienced a place that I want to recommend the food but absolutely nothing else.

Okay this may be a new favorite lunch spot. 3 regular rolls for $14.99… more than enough food for lunch. NY steak hibachi lunch special $13.50. Sushi was delicious and very reasonably priced. There’s a bar in the back and the overall interior aesthetic is nice. Good beer, sake, wine, cocktail selection as well.

Perhaps the best sushi I’ve had in the treasure valley. HUGE selection, including lots of vegetarian options as well. Ingredients were fresh and well prepared. Service was very friendly. I suspect that some of the “awkwardness” people experienced in previous reviews were unfortunately due to a small language barrier, but if you’re decent, this shouldn’t bother you. It was a fantastic experience all around and an atmosphere issue could be easily fixed if more people came and supported them!

We were seated at 6:30pm. The service was very slow. Took about 30 min to see a server after being seated. Took 10 minutes after seeing server to get water. It took 45 min to get drinks and sides. The mixed drinks were good and strong so that is a positive. It took 70 minutes get the first dish which was the hibachi salmon. 5 minutes later some of the rolls came out 5 minutes later. The food was really good. Plan on spending time here waiting to order then get your food. Perhaps, since they are newly opened, they will get faster and have better service in time. The only server we saw seemed like he was trying but he was the only server we could see which made service very slow. We may try the place later to see if they are more organized.

We moved to Middleton from Eagle about a year ago and have been wanting to find a good sushi restaurant that was closer. This place is excellent! The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. We were skeptical after reading a couple reviews, but were pleasantly surprised after trying it out ourselves. We’ll definitely be back more often.
