Starting the long weekend with a delicious lunch at Momiji Japanese Restaurant. It was my first time dining here, and the recommendation came from my father-in-law. The restaurant is small, cozy, and welcoming, with excellent customer service—attentive and warm throughout our visit.
Here’s what we ordered:
Appetizers
– Aburi Sushi – Chef’s assorted torched sushi
– Salmon Sashimi – 3 pieces
– Botan Ebi – Sweet shrimp
– Chicken Karaage – Japanese-style fried chicken
Main Course
– Sushi Sashimi Moriwase – A chef’s selection of 8 pieces of premium assorted sushi and 10 pieces of premium assorted sashimi, served with 3 pieces of shrimp tempura and 5 pieces of vegetable tempura.
Every dish was delicious, with impressive quality and freshness. I was genuinely impressed. The Sushi Sashimi Moriwase was the standout—beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor.
I think I’ve just discovered another favorite Japanese restaurant in Mississauga, alongside Tomo Sushi. I’ll definitely be coming back—and next time, I’m trying the sushi boat!

Very glad I tried this place out! The sushi is good quality and fresh (I would also recommend the tempura- it was great). The staff are nice and the service was very quick. And they don’t skimp out! The sashimi pieces were surprisingly thick, making it all good value for the price.

Recently tried their Korean fried chicken, and so far it is the best I have had anywhere. The crust has a perfect thickness and crunch to it while not being too oily. On the other hand, the chicken itself was extremely moist and tasted amazing with a good amount of salt. Personally, I do not think it even needs any sauce with it.

Used to be a regular here when I lived in the area. Happy to return and find the same amazing high quality sushi! One of the best sushi restaurants in Mississauga. Had a Spicy Crunch Tuna roll and the Super Salmon. Delicious! The lunch specials are a great deal as well. Friendly staff too. A must try if you’re in the area.

We ordered the Sushi Sashimi Combo and the Sushi Sashimi Bento Combo off the Lunch Special menu. At $21 each, they are a great value. Super fresh and so much food that you won’t leave there feeling hungry.
I’ve been there in the past for dinner with some friends and that is how we found out about this place. Dinner was equally as good.

Sushi craving for today! weve tried to eat our brunch ar Momiji and it was the best decision to do! We love visiting sushi places and this place definitely exceeded the expectations. Fresh, flavorful and excellent presentation and friendly staff! We can’t ask for more! Highly recommend!

We have been to Momiji quite a few times, always great in the past. Last Saturday was different. The first telling sign: Saturday evening, restaurant was completely empty, just our table. We ordered food some tuna rolls , teriyaki dinners etc. First the rolls: smelly, like an old fish. Never had such thing in the past. We returned them, waitress brought us new ones, these were fine. Why they served us something really bad in the first place, I can’t tell.Then came the food. warm shrimps, lukewarm beef, cold vegetables. Nothing was the right temperature, the way dinners are. We asked the teriayaki beef to be warmed up, the waitress took it and brought it back at the same temperature. We returned it. It was cold.
The waitress clearly felt uncomfortable. We asked if the chef was new. Apparently not.
What happened to Momiji, I can’t tell.
We are not taking chances, not going there again.

I had a wonderful experience here. The food is so fresh and very delicious. The taste is very authentic and makes you feel like you are in Japan. I love the plating and the colorful look of the presentation of the dishes. Not to mention, the service is very nice and the owner is a very kind and welcoming person. The atmosphere is cosy and again makes you feel like you’re in Japan. I ordered the Love Boat and Tempura Odon with seafood. It was spectacular! Only thing I didn’t like was how this restaurant is very expensive. I wish I can come back weekly haha. My suggestion is to add pictures on the menu because it is hard to tell what I am ordering as I am not 100% familiar with everything and it would be nice to try more of your delicious food! I am happy to found this place and grateful it is nearby.
