We were looking for a good breakfast on our way to the Beach. In Camden,we found what we were hoping for: sit down restaurant, good coffee, good breakfast. Haile Street delivered. We had omlettes, hashbrowns and my husband had a side of corned beef hash. The fillings in the omlettes had been pre- cooked and seasoned, so they blended in beautifully with the eggs and cheese. The hashbrowns were a rarely found combination of crispy and moist. The corned beef hash was crispy-fried on the outside, while still being moist on the inside. The coffee was fresh and rich, and not bitter.
It’s a small place, and a few miles off of I-20. It is worth seeking out if you want good food, good coffee, and good service.
It’s not Dennys, IHOP, or Cracker Barrel , and it’s better for not being those places.

1st time visit. Had breakfast and it was very good. Sat outside. There is a nice park across the street which we took a stroll in after our meal. We will come back.

Haile Street Grill is what I love about exploring the small towns of South Carolina, and I can see why locals go here!

Everything you want in a good diner. Great food, perfect atmosphere, and great people. It is easy to see why this is considered a staple of Camden. Don’t miss this one!

Great breakfast served by Tommy Bean, who shadowed Aunt Jess for the day (see photos). The breakfast was huge for such a great price! Eggs, bread of choice, meat of choice, grits, and added a side of their delicious sausage gravy. Did not skimp on anything, especially the grits and gravy. Biscuit was Large and homemade. Coffee was good too, both decaf and regular. When in the area, we’ll definitely return.

This was a rare find for us. Off the beaten path in Camden, Google Maps will take you there. And you’ll be glad you when.
They have a regular menu, a white board of specials, and you can order from the servers at the food bar. At the bar you can choose a number of meats, and add two or three vegetables. Or you can order a vegetable plate with the ones you want.
The service was fast and friendly.
I had fried chicken that was just like Mama used to cook. I then added the vegetables of my choice and a yeast roll.
My wife had a delicious fried pork chop with her vegetables, and chose to add cornbread.
Be sure to leave room for one of the delicious desserts. My wife had cake and I had pecan pie. Yummy.
They were fairly busy so we decided to try one of the outdoor tables. It was a pleasant day so it was just like a picnic.
We also noticed that some customers chose to order takeout, and some went across the street to a lovely park with tables for a real picnic!
We had a great meal at a very reasonable price. We’ll be back when we get back to Camden.
They are open for breakfast and lunch. Try the Haile Street Grill. You won’t be disappointed!
