Reviews
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at a Moe’s, which is especially frustrating given my history with the brand. I worked for Moe’s for roughly six years through high school and college, starting in 2005 at the Dawsonville, GA location, and later at stores in Athens, Cumming, and several others. I understand the standards, the portions, and how easy it is to provide good service. What I experienced here was an embarrassment.
I paid $3.89 extra for extra meat. The employee making my burrito gave noticeably undersized scoops, even after being reminded that I paid for extra meat. What I received was the smallest “extra rice, extra meat, with queso” burrito I have ever been served at Moe’s. The burrito was also poorly rolled, sloppy, and careless.
After rolling it, meat was left sitting on the prep table. When I pointed this out, the employee laughed. That alone should concern anyone responsible for food service.
I brought the issue to the cashier, who refused to communicate at all. When I asked if he was going to respond, he simply said, “No.” That level of disrespect is unbelievable.
After receiving the food, I sat in my car and attempted to write a review in the Moe’s app three times. Each time, the app erased the entire message when I tried to attach a photo of the burrito. Because I noticed the manager was in the building, I went back inside specifically to give management the opportunity to fix the issue in person. That interaction made the situation worse, not better.
The staff showed zero urgency, professionalism, or enthusiasm. I stood waiting while the customer ahead of me had two items fully made and rung up before anyone took my order. Once my order was finished, someone came out of the back to ring me, only later did I realize there was a manager present in the building the entire time.
I then brought the burrito directly to the manager and calmly asked whether they genuinely felt this qualified as “extra meat.” I was met with blank stares and immediately offered a refund. I clearly stated I did not want a refund, I wanted one additional scoop of meat to correct the order I had already paid for. The manager claimed they could not take food back over the counter. I then asked for a scoop of meat to be placed on the burrito while I held it. That was also refused.
To be clear: I was not asking for free food. I was asking for what I paid for.
I frequently stop at this location after bike rides to refuel, and it has been a reliable option in the past. After today, it will be very difficult to justify coming back. When a customer pays extra, communicates calmly, and is still dismissed, laughed at, and refused a simple correction, it’s clear this location does not value repeat customers.
After speaking with the manager and realizing nothing was going to be done, I was so disgusted by the experience that I threw the burrito away and left.
This was not a training issue. This was apathy, poor leadership, and outright disrespect. This location should be ashamed of how it represents the Moe’s brand.
I understand other reviews about food quality (mostly the meat cuts), but that’s just what you get with franchises. I had no complaints though! The food was very good.
This Moe’s needs to clean their soda machine equipment mold debris was in my drink. (This comes from not cleaning the equipment and drink nozzles).
I always lift my lid before I drink any drinks and I saw the black mold debris in my cup floating. Think I may report them to health department. My burrito was cold, my chicken didn’t look appealing and fell apart.
I will NEVER visit this location again! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! AVOID THIS LOCATION!
There were some issues with the app, but that’s a corporate matter and not relevant here. When my son brought the order home, my family and I sat down to eat and immediately noticed several problems:
1. The seasoned rice in all four items was both overcooked and undercooked. This inconsistency made the entire meal inedible. (See attached picture)
2. The steak in my bowl was so overcooked it was inedible. (See attached picture)
3. One of the burritos contained a large amount of guacamole, which the person who ordered it did not ask for and does not like.
The only saving grace was when I called the store to discuss the issue. Since it’s a 45-minute round trip from my home, I appreciated that the manager on duty, Jayden, listened to my complaints and offered a refund, which I thought was gracious given the circumstances.
