We came from out of town to visit this iconic place. But on a holiday weekend with an Italian festival going on… the line wrapped around the building !! It took maybe a half an hour to wait. Really not bad. Everything was amazing. My husband was moaning over his first bite of the tiramisu cake. I have never loved cannolis so I only ordered a mini and I regret it. It was amazing and now I’m ruined for life for all other cannolis. The lobster tail- what do I even say. Huge, amazing, perfect sweetness to the filling. We went last night and obviously couldn’t finish everything. We’ll be enjoying these all week! Perfect start to our first visit here in Boston!

Dave is one hell of a guy! I always go here when I’m in Boston late at night. Absolutely great service, great food and an all around friendly spot! I’ve know Dave for years and can’t recommend them enough!

Bel quartiere (beautiful neighborhood). Little Italy nestled in the North End section of Boston is an amazing slice of European culture complete with landmark buildings and businesses. Taking my morning walks through this historic neighborhood and chatting it up with the locals were a true highlight of my trip. Also high on the list was my visit to Modern Pastry. The throwback bakery/eatery was a sweet reminder of the cultural richness that defines this iconic neighborhood. Italian coffee, a yolk-running fried egg sandwich, and of course a to-go care package of their HIGHLY recommended Lemonchello pastry, along with a couple pistachio macaroons all sent my stomach to taste-bud heaven later in the evening.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this section of the City and is definitely a must-visit destination.

Very typical small type Italian desert shop. Everything looks amazing, everything we tried, was delicious. Keep in mind, Only Cash Here, the good old cash!

Bring CASH! They don’t take anything but cash, which was really frustrating. (Neither does Mike’s Pastry down the street, but don’t even bother going there.)
The service was okay. The first server (before we had cash) was pretty dismissive, but the next cashier was nice. We got a pb cup, napoleon, eclair, and key lime tart. The tart was delicious! The pb cup was good too. Both the napoleon and eclair had good pastry and the custard filling was okay. However, the icing on both was not great. The napoleon in particular had a strangely flavored buttercream instead of the typical glaze, which I didn’t appreciate. However, it’s MUCH better than the pastry place down the street. If you’re going for pastry on Hanover St, go here.

Late Saturday night, waited about 10 minutes upstairs for 2 seats downstairs. Sat at the bar and the bartender couldn’t have been nicer. It was busy, and he was hustling, but still managed to talk/joke with us and make sure everyone was having fun… and the Pistachio, Banana Bread, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Martinis were delicious!

Awesome little bar with Speakeasy vibes under Modern Pastry! Pastry shop is amazing upstairs but if you go downstairs you’ll find a sweet little bar tucked away down there! They make delicious Martinis! We tried them all! Expresso, Pistachio, and, Bannana Bread! You can’t go wrong with any of them! Paired with a delicious Canolli, it’s an awesome experience!

This place is amazing! The vibes are so fun and cozy I love that it has a speakeasy feel and the bartender is super friendly! The food was incredible and they have special menus for special times (New Years, valentines, etc..). So many delicious options on their brunch and dinner menu good luck narrowing it down! And don’t forget to stop upstairs and grab some pastries and cannolis on the way out!

Great pastries, the cannolis were fabulous with a nice crispy shell which still held shape contributing to an excellent eating experience. The filling was smooth, creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The staff were fine, what you would expect from a busy shop in the area. Overall great spot, highly reco
