It was my first time back here since the remodeling about 5 months ago, and wow—the transformation is amazing! Mid-century modern is clearly trending, but this hotel takes it to another level. The elegance of the marble paired with the warmth of the wood creates a truly magnificent atmosphere.

We were seated right away, but no server came by for the first 15 minutes—even though it wasn’t busy. When we finally ordered a ciabatta, it arrived quickly, but it turned out to be someone else’s order (apologies to the table who had to wait longer for their food).

For our entrées and drinks, service was smoother, but dessert was another challenge. It took 15 minutes just to get the dessert menu and another 15 for the plate to arrive. Unfortunately, it seemed to come from the quick café next door, just placed on a ceramic plate. The menu mentioned gold leaf, but the “gold leaf” was barely visible.

On the bright side, the flavors were excellent and the presentation was beautiful. Still, the service left a lot to be desired and makes me think twice before returning. Hopefully next time will be better.

Speaking of Grand Hyatt food, the in-house breakfast spot, Moda, surprised me with one of the best eggs Benedicts I’ve had in a hotel. Perfectly poached for the yolk porn, hollandaise on the side, and just the right amount of crispiness in that English muffin. Anytime I get a semi-runny egg, I’m a happy camper. Don’t sleep on those crispy potatoes. And, it is bright in here all day. Make yourself comfortable and do a little work. I do wanna say something about the service here. After I had paid the bill, the server kept filling up my water. Then, he asked me if I wanted a coffee to go. Everyone needs to learn from this.

Took family for lunch. We are locals. What a pleasant surprise!! Best dry rub wings I’ve had in a long time. The French fries were absolutely the best I’ve EVER HAD. Family really enjoyed the burgers. Bit pricy but it’s expected on the riverwalk in a premier hotel. Don’t mind splurging on cost IF the food and service are worth it… and this was both! Will absolutely recommend to friends and plan to make this our splurge spot when we want a fix of superior atmosphere and food.

I ordered pasta from Moda Fare and it was a complete disaster. There was no sauce, the noodles were cold and undercooked, and honestly the whole thing looked like it came straight from a dorm microwave. The menu is full of weird, unappetizing items, and nothing about it sounds remotely good. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else—the trashcan outside probably has better food. Total waste of money.

Being local, often times we like to visit new restaurants downtown. We found this wonderful restaurant located in the Grand Hyatt,Moda Fare. The hospitality was amazing.Alexus Perkins, the manager, was engaging, professional, charming and made us feel welcome.Chef Chapa, visited our table personally and asked what type of food we liked.I ordered chicken with Alfredo sauce. The portion served was ample but not overwhelming. The chef made it with butter but no cream…omg…best I ever tasted… light but still creamy. My partner had another pasta dish…can’t even tell you what it was because it was not on the menu. The restaurant is beautiful, classy and in the heart of beautiful San Antonio. We even met Frank, one of the managers from another restaurant in the hotel.Very impressed with the entire experience. 5 STARS for the restaurant, food, and management. The only negative is the pay to valet parking -which was comped.Ms.Perkins tells us that they are working to offer free parking to their guest.Highly recommend Moda Fare.We will be back Alexus.Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

We had the breakfast buffet! It was expensive for what you get. But, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the eggs benedict!! Also, I liked the french toast they had with compote.

I had a horrible experience with the manager. I saw her snapping at her employees, and I confronted her. Her name was laura, she had such a bad attitude. The way she spoke to me and everyone else. She said I could leave if I didn’t like the service. The food was disgusting.Barrojo, what they had before was better. The service was a long way.I don’t blame the bartenders. They were understaffed!

Great service and atmosphere for sure! No appetizers unfortunately so if you come very hungry then youre just going to have to deal with it until your food arrives. The food LOOKED so good! But, was very bland when I tasted it.

I could not wait to review this place, because of the absolute criminality of their drink pricing. I went into the bar and ordered a double Angel’s Envy on a large rock. I intentionally ordered regular Angel’s Envy, because it is a moderately priced, but quality, bourbon that retails at approximately $45 per bottle. It’s not fancy or expensive. I received my bill for this drink and it was $73.94 before tip! I am no stranger to upscale prices or restaurants. $48 for a double would not surprise me in a hotel bar. This was egregious and wrong.
