Come on in for fun drink specials and whimsical Jell-O shots, house made corned beef and cabbage and a little too much of the color green sprinkled about!

Loved our first time at the Mockingbird Tavern. We technically got there 10 minutes before the kitchen opened and our server was super nice about taking our daughters order and dropping it as soon as the kitchen opened. Food was delicious. My entire family ate ever single bite. We just left and can’t wait to go back.

The Burger! It was sooo good. Thin bun with flavorful grill marks, smoked cheese, mild and finely sliced red onion on top of the slice of tomato on the side. That was just delicious!

My friend enjoyed his grilled chicken sandwich a lot too.

Oh, and not to forget – the plum cake. Was very good.

Cute, hometown Putney VT pub! Small menu but this place has a true chef in the kitchen! Locally sourced foods, excellent bar choices and the staff is great. Expect real people, real food in a relaxed atmosphere… savor this pearl.. don’t come here if you are rushed. This ain’t no Mickey D’s.

I had Caesar salad, the romaine lettuce was deliciously charred, lots of Parmesan and baby arugula on it, just delicious! Rest of family had the bean burgers which they loved, with fries. Great selection of hot sauces. Great IPAs on draft and non alcoholic selections. Nice homey atmosphere. Will come again!

AVOID going here. We sat at a table waiting for 25min and noticed a staff was sitting at the bar wasted and barely doing her job. No one came to take our orders. No staff came up to take our orders. We also noticed 2 roaches coming out of the kitchen which made us a little uncomfortable. the Owner, who was clearly drunk, finally walks up to us to give us rude and snotty remarks and then walks away, so we decide to leave. He decides to follow us outside and harass us, trying to fight a group of 7 people, cussing at the females who didn’t even say a word. Any Owner of a property who drinks his own merch while on the job and tries to pick fights with random customers should not run a business. I won’t be surprised to see this place go bankrupt in a couple years. Do NOT go here.

I really want to believe that our experience at this restaurant was just a stroke of bad luck. We had been eagerly trying to dine here, but our first attempt was foiled by the limited hours (only open Wednesday-Saturday). On our second try, we arrived only to find that they open at 4 for drinks and 5 for dinner. Finally, on our third attempt, we made it right at 5 PM.

We ordered two burgers and nothing else. There were a few people eating indoors and about three groups outside. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive our burgers until 6:15 PM. When they finally arrived, they were a big disappointment—two lackluster burgers with burnt bread and burnt, frozen fries. I never leave food behind, even if I don’t finish it, but this was the first time in a long while that I didn’t even want to take leftovers home. Btw are you spraying deodorizer on the patio? I could not figure out if it was someone wearing a strong perfume or just one of those smelly things outside, but the smell was so strong and not good for when you are eating.

The waitress was good—professional and diligent—but the kitchen was a different story. As someone else mentioned in another review, perhaps the locals get a better experience. I think Putney is hurting with their restaurant industry, the Putney Diner was so bad as well, we did not get good luck at the Gleanery either and when we tried to give it another chance, they have just closed down business. I’ll give the Mockingbird another try and I will update my review for sure, so wish me luck!

Such an incredible gem and find. The owner and staff were amazing. Drinks and food were top notch and the music & atmosphere were spot on. Such a warm, inviting and great place to stop in for a quick bite or full meal with drinks and dessert. We were welcomed and invited from the first step into the tavern and fell in love immediately. A must visit spot and will be returning again and again ❤️

Went here for dinner with a party of 7 and our daughter – after waiting 25 minutes the owner decided to come over and yell at us for “seating ourselves” after nobody was there to seat us. He was very angry that we decided to take all his chairs and tables when there was nobody waiting to get in. Because of this we decided to just get up and leave. Staff all drunk, including the owner who decided to chase us into the parking lot to our cars. Dirty dishes on all the tables – guess owner decided to pass on a hefty bill –

Stopped in for a cold beer and quick dinner. Plenty of options on both scores. Relaxed, warm atmosphere, good music on the sound system, lots of parking. Rain prevented us eating on the deck, but it looked like a great option, weather-permitting.
