Mastering the perfect chewiness of mochi donuts could be tricky, which was why I had higher expectations for Mochinut, a shop that specialized exclusively in mochi donuts.

I bought two boxes for a gathering with friends who also love mochi donuts and we all agreed they were okay at best.

Mochinut also offered specialty corn dogs and ice cream.

Interior was clean, staff friendly.

I went in around noon on a weekday and ordered three different flavors. Every single one of them was rock hard and stale. I can’t believe they are selling these to customers. I’ve been to other locations and they had much wider selections and they were soft, chewy and flavorful. I will avoid this location at all costs.

The rice hotdogs are good but the cheese don’t stretch, some of the drinks aren’t good but I love the place because they tried and that’s all that matters; can get free count just for rating the place

Came in around noon today, unfortunately the selections were absolutely nothing like advertised on the online website. I wish there was a function on their location website to show what exactly they were sold out of because wow it was severely disappointing to see, at noon nonetheless! None of the speciality mochinuts were available, only plain flavors like chocolate glaze and churro. Service was alright I guess, however the worker seemed extremely unenthusiastic to the point it was lowkey kinda awkward? They should get some new management because I’ve been to other locations that are great! This one however…well, save your time and maybe check out a proper Chinatown spot.

Update: I got home, ate a donut, it was in fact, stale and weirdly cold in the middle parts..perhaps avoid this specific location.

Ugh, I did not like it. That’s what I get for letting my kids choose the restaurant. I had the potato corn dog. It was dry and tasted odd. My son had the Taki corn dog. It was too spicy to eat. My daughter had the hot cheetos mozzarella dog, and it wasn’t enough to fill her up.

I so wanted to try the donuts, but they were out of almost everything, so I was only able to try flavors I didn’t particularly care for. Blackberry was okay. Glazed was not great. Ube was just okay. We won’t be back.

Such an awesome place! It was so clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The lady who served me was very kind, polite and welcoming. I ordered the 3-pack of mochi donuts and each flavor I received was so fresh and delicious! This has now become one of my new favorite places to come for something sweet (but not too sweet) and delicious!

The ice cream taste like it’s been in there for months. My kids were disappointed. The mozzarella potato, original, hot cheetos, original mozzarella taste good. The boba drinks is just okay. They don’t serve water. The mochi donuts looks like been there for days so we decided not to order.

A couple of months ago I would have given this place 5 stars easily, but during my most recent visit I was disappointed with the quality of the donuts. It tasted a bit soggy, and left me very confused why the sudden change in quality. I have found this to be an issue with mochi donuts in the past, when you take them to go, but the donuts are still warm they need time to breathe and cool down, but if you package them too soon the donuts will become very soggy. If this was the case, the employee should have known this and not given us donuts that were still too warm and hadn’t cool down yet. I will give this place one more chance, but if it happens again, it will probably be my last time there, since I expect more when I paying over $9 for 3 donuts.

We likely will not be back. The young woman at the counter clearly hated her job & didn’t want to serve us. She did not explain that the combo had an up charge for the potato mozzarella dog we ordered. We have never been here before, so we did not realize. The potato mozzarella dog came out not with the large pieces of potato from the images but tiny bits of what looked to be overcooked chopped up McDonalds fries on the outside. Hard tiny rocks that didn’t cost the entire outside even. The donut did not taste fresh. Overall underwhelming & overpriced. There are so many better places in this area.

While the mochi-donuts were serviceable, the boba my wife ordered was genuinely just milk and chocolate syrup. I’m not sure there was any tea in there. Also, the service we received was rather strange, with the employee making multiple trips to the back before taking our order. I would recommend going to a dedicated boba restaurant as opposed to this one, as it seems they do not know how to make it properly.
