Stopped in randomly before appointment near by. I was hungry they had food and snacks. The doughnut amazing! Didn’t even make it to my car. It was soft, but the poki stick gave it a crunch, the taro flavor was sweet but not overpowering or too sweet. Now these Korean corn dogs…i didn’t hate them. I did eat both. And i would definitely try more and go back to this place if i was ever hungry again and in the area. It just wasn’t the greatest. I think it’s great for kids or folks that like finger food like this. It just wasn’t for me. But again didn’t hate it just wasn’t my favorite thing. I’d be down to try it again maybe a different flavor. The service was quick and efficient. The server seemed nice enough and knowledgeable.

I’ve heard so many good compliments about this establishment and decided to finally visit with my children. Upon entering the store me and my children received very RUDE service from the cashier at the 501 old York rd location. The store closes at 6pm, we arrived at 5:21pm. The cashier indicated the kitchen was closed and there was no food being served, which was fine as we only wanted to try the bubble teas and the Brown sugar Moo. My oldest daughter told her it’s fine if the kitchen is closed because we would only like to order drinks. This cashier proceeds to roll her eyes and blow out the biggest breath and says “WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ORDER?!” I kindly declined her serving us, gathered my children and left! I do not spend money where I am not respected!! And it’s so disappointing because my younger children even sensed this ladies attitude. I don’t know if it’s because we’re people of color or because we’re Muslim, but we were definitely treated unfairly in this store. I would suggest a professional development day training for all employees and hope this kind of attitude would not happen again with other customers, but as for me and my family, you have one time to disrespect and we no longer support your business *At this location* I plan on visiting the location in South Philly and hopefully the customer service will be better!

*UPDATE* (5/31/24)

Google is not allowing me to write a new review, but I wanted to update my review. After getting in contact with the manager of the store, via email, me and my family were invited back to this location.

Our invite back was very positive. The owner did offer to pay for our visit, which is a very kind gesture. I opted to pay, because I have a lot of children with huge taste buds and wanted one of everything. I didn’t see it as fair to put such a balance on him, but thank you again for offering.

GREAT customer service! The food is DELICIOUS. The wings are AMAZING we tried two different flavors. the drinks are VERY tasteful full of many different flavors. All of my children liked the corn dogs a lot, especially the hot Cheetos and Cheeto mozzarella ones. Lastly, we ordered a dozen of assorted donuts. EACH donut was so good. All in all the service was amazing, the atmosphere was really nice. It’s funny thinking about it, but my children were finished their wings and hot dogs before we could even leave the parking lot lol.

My children enjoyed had a good time visiting. We literally took up the entire bench in the store lol. I would like to thank the manager again for reaching out to me. I am glad I gave this location a second chance, and we will definitely be back to visit again and again through out the summer Inshaa’Allah.

Delicious!

I was skeptical of how flavorful these would be based on the smallish amount of frosting, but they are VERY flavorful! It seems that maybe better-concentrated flavoring is used, so each donut doesn’t need a ton of sugary frosting to make it flavorful. And the flavors taste authentic, not fake. The donuts were just as tasty and fresh the next day.

The hot dog coating was SO crispy and crunchy, just as it looks and sounds on you tube channels.

Already looking forward to going back. The coffee donut was delicious! We got the brown sugar milk tea and the boba was better than most places I’ve tried. Also got the Korean rice hotdog… was tasty. They were short staffed but the guy there was friendly and working hard. Worth the $.

I would definitely come back again.

Convenient parking: Mochi Ring is located within this plaza in Abington. That means I don’t have to look for street parking if I want to go here for a quick snack/dessert.

Clean: My first impression of this place is…it’s clean. With Covid still being around, the two employees that I saw do have their masks on. However, there are no tables if you want to enjoy and eat their mochi donut or try out their drinks inside the store.

Mochi Donuts: They taste fresh to me. There are a number of flavors to choose from. And from time to time, they will have new flavors out. The day I was there they had Ube and Mango as their new flavors. Their normal selections I believe are Strawberry, Matcha, Oreo, Nutella, Coffee, Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Black Sesame, Coconut, etc. I’ve tried all except Matcha. Personal preference that I would recommend is heat the mochi donut for a few seconds before eating so the texture of the mochi would be soft and chewy.

Drinks: I ordered their Honey Citron Lemon Green Tea and their King of Oolong Milk Tea. Both drinks are yummy and delicious to me. Definitely recommend to give the drinks a try.

Stopped at Mochi Ring to grab some mochi donuts as they’ve become my latest obsession since mochi is inherently gluten free.

[For those with gluten sensitivities, please note that this is not a gluten free facility, and there is a disclaimer that the donuts may contain food allergens like wheat. Please see the photo with the menu prices for additional allergens. Mochi Ring does not advertise their donuts as being gluten free, so please proceed with caution.]

I was able to grab a half dozen donuts (glazed, coconut, tropical pineapple, and coco crisp) and an original half mozzarella/half hotdog Korean rice dog before they closed for the day. [Yes, I did show up like 15 minutes before close…not my norm, but I was coming from the city and just trying to make it.]

The donuts were great. I’m not really an icing person, so I did remove the icing from the glazed and coconut donuts (the icing was good, just too much for me). My favorites were definitely the tropical pineapple that had trix pieces on it, and the coco crisp which had coco pebbles on it I think.

The Korean rice dog was delicious; I got half and half, the top half was mozzarella and the bottom was the hotdog. They definitely don’t skimp on the mozzarella, but I would’ve preferred it if the hotdog was cut in half lengthwise, and the mozzarella sandwiched between, then covered in the batter and then cooked; but that’s just me .

They do have a rewards program using stamp cards. For the card I have, for every 9 half dozens you buy, you get one half dozen free. I don’t know if they have stamp cards for individual donuts or dozens, but I noticed that they don’t do stamp cards for the Korean rice hotdogs.

They do also offer milk tea, hot tea, milk moo, fruit freeze and fruit tea for drinks, but I didn’t try one of those during this visit.

The staff was really nice, the facility was clean, and they do have a unisex bathroom available that was working and clean.

I will definitely be back again. Glad that there’s a mochi donut place in the area, as I didn’t want to have to go downtown every time I had the craving.

The mochi rings are tasty and don’t taste artificial. A 6 pack is a good shareable size for a family of 4. Kids will love sharing the small pieces.

There are a few interesting options here, outside of mochi ring donuts, that are worth exploring and coming back.

Mochi Donuts are much different then the ordinary donut. They are chewy in texture with a fried consistency. They only thing that makes the base different is the topping. Meaning the donuts are all the same, not like traditional donuts were you can get a cake type , cruller, yeast based, or filled. The toppings is what makes them different. They are delicious and I would get more again. I also got the popping bubble tea which is as also good.

I cannot get enough of their donuts and I LOVE this location! It’s clean, the customer service is amazing and so are the donuts! I posted a picture of the donuts I got today and two Black Sesame donuts didn’t quite make it. Lol. All of the flavors are good but my favorite flavor is Black Sesame and my daughter lives Nutella, Strawberry and Oreo and she loves their wings.

I loved this place when I used to live in the area. I happened to be in town and decided to get some mochi donuts for nostalgia’s sake. Upon entering, I noticed how dirty the place was. It took a few minutes for someone to come out of the kitchen and take my order. There was no donuts on the shelf but the person taking my order said they were right about to come out. Cool, I can wait. It took FIFTEN MINUTES for the donuts to come out. If I knew it would take that long, I would have left. While I was waiting for my order, I decided to use the restroom. Not only was it dirty, but there was poop smeared on the side of the toilet. It was disgusting.

The person waiting on me wasn’t friendly at all. In fact, she seemed so disinterested in serving me, that I felt like I interrupted whatever was going on in the kitchen. Also, she didn’t even get my donut order right. I ordered a 6 dozen including: Oreo, Nutella, two strawberries, Cinnamon, matcha, and a glazed… The matcha was specifically for me and I didn’t even get it… looks like I got taro instead maybe?

Onto the appearance of the donuts. They’re barely frosted and they look so sloppy. The donuts looked much more appetizing a few years ago. If you’re wondering how they tasted, they tasted HORRIBLE. They don’t taste anything like they used too. I took a bite and instantly noticed how bitter the dough tasted. I couldn’t even eat a full donut cause I started to gag on it it tasted sooo bad. It also had a very nasty after taste that lingers for awhile…

As for the bubble tea I got? I wanted Thai milk tea but they were out. It wasn’t a problem. I came in the middle of the day and I know thai is popular. I got an oolong milk tea instead… and I regretted ordering a drink at all. It had next to no sugar in it. It tasted like tea and milk with the essence of sugar. I’m not a fan of overly sweet bubble tea, but this was so bitter, I ended up dumping it down the drain.

I don’t think I would ever stop by again. I was so disappointed with the cleanliness, service, and food. If I had a time machine, I would literally stop myself from going. Definitely not worth the money. Save yourself the time and money. ‍♀️
