Mobjack Tavern is a delightful establishment. They participate in the Harvest Hosts network and are very friendly to travelers. I had Oysters Rockefeller, Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs, and a beer flight at the bar while the bartender, Samantha, and her compatriot Harryann, made me feel right at home. The food and drink were delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I was sad to leave but I will absolutely be back. They are currently in the process of reestablishing the brewery and I cannot wait to try the offerings once they are up and running. If you are in the area or passing through, stopping at Mobjack Tavern is an absolute must! Highly recommend! This was my first Harvest Hosts experience and I’m truly thankful to all who made it such a wonderful experience.

I ordered the smothered shaved prime rib and my friend ordered rhe fish and chips. It took a bit for the food to arrive. My friend’s fish looked great and she said it was tasty. My shaved prime rib, however, was still in frozen chunks. Bit of a turn off. They offered to remake it, but I chose to bypass the main course and got a slice of key lime pie instead. It was more of a key lime fluff, and was ok. The wait staff was friendly, but quality control in the kitchen seems to be lacking.

Quite the hidden gem in Gloucester, VA. The food…..amazing to say the least. We had the Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs, Traavy Patty Burger and a burger with pimento cheese, bacon jam, bacon and caramelized onions. (Can’t remember the name) They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. This is a must have. We will be back!! Well done Mobjack Tavern!

My friend and I recently had dinner at Mobjack Tavern and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The crabcake dinner I ordered was made with spoiled meat, which was not only unpleasant but also concerning for health reasons. Additionally, the broccoli and cheese side dish was gross and tasted off. The mashed potatoes were ok. The waitress recommended the steak tacos. My friend got the special the waitress recommended, and when it arrived at our table the steak looked like the meat was left out for a month and heated up. we originally ordered side salads with our meals. The waitress came back and said they are out of lettuce. 20 minutes later the waitress said the lettuce was there and pointed to the gentleman in a white Chevy truck that has just pulled up and the gentleman walking inside with bags of lettuce from Kroger. Literally looked like rubber. Overall, the quality of the food was unacceptable, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others based on my experience. I hope they take steps to improve their food quality and ensure a better dining experience for future customers.

My girlfriends and I came in for dinner and got the bang bang shrimp and charcuterie board that were fantastic!!!! We shared the Cobb salad and fish and chips that were equally amazing! Our server Samantha was super helpful and attentive! Definitely will be back again!!

Went to mobjack tonight with a friend and we had the fish and chips is was so delicious …our server roni was so awesome and all the staff was so helpful! The atmosphere was great we felt so welcome…. Feeling like this might just be our new go to place … thank you mobjack tavern and staff for the great experience two ‘s up !!!

Just had an amazing dinner experience at Mobjack Tavern! The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the staff are attentive and welcoming, and the food was next level. Highly recommend…especially on Wednesday evenings…there was live open mic music!

Food is unexpectedly good, for a bar and grill. A favorite for us in Gloucester. Everything, but they also have special plates and unusual things, like a protein plate or a “low country charcuterie” with fresh pig rinds, pimento cheese and deviled eggs. Nomworthy. 😀 Their pizza may be the best in Gloucester, too. I can’t wait til they start brewing again! Service is good, except they are sometimes short-staffed like everyplace else these days.

My friend and I were disappointed in the taste and quality of the food. The rice wasn’t cooked all the way and hard, the green beans tasted like nothing but garlic and the side salad was diced with 2 small slivers of cucumber. The sauce on the Hawaiian chicken was terrible. I didnt eat it and told them to throw in the trash. The quality is awful and we paid 82.00 for dinner. The bang bang shrimp wasn’t great either. We will never go back again.

AMAZING! I’ve been looking for some great tacos and I’ve found them here! I cannot stand coleslaw and forgot to ask the waitress to take it off. Lo and behind, I’ve found a coleslaw that I enjoy! It’s perfect on the shrimp tacos! Husband got a burger and he said “even the bun tastes delicious”. Definitely coming back!
