Happy to report: this visit was a complete plot twist.
What started as a casual stop-by quickly escalated into a full-blown “round two” situation—because one plate simply wasn’t enough. We sampled the teriyaki chicken, teriyaki steak, and Hawaiian pork, and each dish delivered like it had something to prove. The meats were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor—no dry, sad proteins here. Just pure island-style satisfaction.
The staff deserves a shoutout as well—welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful, especially for first-timers trying to decode the menu without accidentally ordering enough food for a luau.
And then… dessert. The mango cheesecake. Smooth, rich, and dangerously easy to keep eating “just one more bite” of. My wife boldly declared it on par with The Cheesecake Factory, which, in dessert terms, is basically the Olympics.
All in all, this spot turned our Hawaiian food skepticism into full-on enthusiasm. Safe to say, this “hidden gem” in Celina won’t be hidden from us for long—we’ll be back, likely sooner than our waistlines would prefer.
There was definitely a bit of a line (no surprise for opening day), but the staff handled it great. Everyone was friendly, upbeat, and kept things moving smoothly, which made the wait totally worth it.
We loaded up on all the good stuff—I got the Kahlua pig with double veggies, and my fiancé went for both types of chicken with brown rice and macaroni salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and flavored perfectly. You really can’t go wrong here—the food is always fresh, hearty, and packed with flavor.
The space itself is great too—plenty of seating and very similar to their other location, with that laid-back island vibe. I loved the surfboards on the wall and the Hawaii photography throughout the restaurant—such a fun, thoughtful touch that really brings the whole concept together.
We’re so happy to have Mo’ Bettahs this close to home and will definitely be back again soon!
