I was so happy to stop in here with my husband the other day on our daily walk around the city! We had passed by the day before and the staff (maybe the owner?) approached us, chatted with us, and invited us in! We had unfortunately just had our lunch and were sad to have to say we couldn’t.

The service on our visit was lovely — warm, inviting, and quick (but not too quick). You can tell a lot of love and pride goes into their restaurant and their food. The restaurant is small, but cozy. They have a cozy little outdoor seating area as well.

We ordered their Special A:
• salmon, snapper nigiri
• crunchy roll
• spicy tuna roll

We split it for our little brunch date, and we were so happy with how fresh everything tasted. Not just that, but every single item was noticeably different and flavorful in its own way. I’m not normally a big fan of nigiri, but this wasn’t overly chewy or fatty. They had a wasabi paste that actually caught me by surprise with how delicious it was!

This was such a pleasant experience, and I’m looking forward to many more visits and sushi rolls.

We ordered 3 rolls for ~$25 total which is very affordable. The fish quality is pretty good for the price. I would say the only con is their limited and sometimes uncertain hours.

Very small space for dine in. It can be done though. Great sushi, the hand rolls are awesome.

Have not found fresher sushi in Portland yet. That can’t be overstated. Very humble space, not a lot of seating but contributes to low overhead and fair pricing. They take pride in what they do. I can’t tell if the two people working there are a couple but it seems like they are, older and fun to talk to. Will definitely keep this as a staple! I do think they should offer larger portions on the edamame though!

Small place. Some outdoor seats available. But today, some folks from my office made our orders online and some people went to pick it up. I ordered a Tiger roll and California roll. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were generous. Very worth the price for the quality.

Lovely little hole-in-the-wall place. I thought it would be take-out only, but they unexpectedly had outdoor seating. Service was very friendly. The fish was fresh and the portions were very generous. Not a place to go if you’re in a rush, but perfect for a leisurely sushi afternoon.

If you blink (or dip your face in your phone for too long), you’ll miss Mizu on Columbia and 3rd. I got the Mizu roll and special, together for under $20. Nice folks, and very conveniently located from my hotel

A small sushi joint in downtown Portland, with really good food at great prices!

The specialty are of course the sushi rolls. While not extraordinary, they are amazing for the price, and service and vibe are outstanding. There’s limited indoor seating (mostly outside), but either is cozy, if a bit cramped if you’re accompanied.

But if you’re by yourself and want some good Japanese food, by all means it’s worth visiting.

Great little place for sushi, ingredients are pretty fresh but lack depth of flavor. If you want something quick and affordable this is the place, definitely will still go back and try more of their speciality rolls.
