It was my birthday along with my sisters and we celebrated here this year. I think there were 13 of us and we had to split up but the staff made it easy to connect. The food was amazing, the preparation was enjoyable if loud . But the chef we had was pretty good I have to admit. All in all it was an enjoyable place with awesome drinks. first time here, the chef was cool, very friendly and entertaining to watch. the food was all slathered in the same sauces and butter. I got sick from the food and was sick for 2 days. my daughter said her stomach hurt afterwards but didn’t get as sick as I did. this place was expensive too. Even though the name has sushi in it, sushi is only sold on certain days If you are allergic to scallops or have other allergies, make sure to tell them because the cross contamination is strong here. I don’t think I’ll ever come back here.

Food was pretty good the performance was better. It’s was all very salty way too much soy sauce it was almost inedible and stay away from the seafood the scallops were so fishy tasting. This was our third visit and it’s been the same way each time. The vegetables were still very hard, this time, but the last time they were perfect, cooked but still firm not hard.

BEWARE: Mizu Covington Has Gone Down Hill
We have been long-time customers of Mizu Covington but wow the Service, Quality, and Overall Experience was terrible tonight. We were THE ONLY CUSTOMERS upon arrival AT 5pm, but still didn’t receive attentive service. It was clear our Teppenyaki Chef was inexperienced and not interactive (but everyone starts somewhere). However the quality and service was absolutely awful, even the soup was super-salty tonight.
We each ordered NY Steaks and shrimp with Fried Rice. My steak was over half fat and grissel. The portions were very small of everything, even veggies. The Waitress was less than attentive. My husband had to go up to bar and ask for drinks after we were out for over 30 minutes (still only 4 patrons in restaurant). Our meal was $144+ before tip (for 2 people) and a complete waste of money.
So disappointed with the service and quality tonight, we will not be going back to the Mizu Covington location again.
Get your priorities together Mizu before you lose all of your loyal customers.

Mizus has sure gone downhill… upon arrival we found that their flooring was peeling up in several spots and we watched people repeatedly trip over it. The bathroom was very dirty. Our waiter took so long to come over and take our drink order. When he finally came to our table he insisted he take our food order at the same time. Felt very ignored and rushed. The drinks took forever to come out and they weren’t even busy. I would say about a third of the restaurant was full. Our cook was not the best. Dropping stuff, spilling, no tricks, not very social. He over sauced the rice (had to add more after asking us too sample it) over salty. And then he didn’t cook our chicken and our salmon all the way. It was raw in the center and he had to put it back on the grill. They didn’t bring our sons steamed rice until after we were done eating. And he got our other son’s order wrong….
Very disappointed. I felt even worse for some of the other tables. One was just sitting there for sooooo long waiting to be served. And the other table had a cook who wasn’t even talking. What happened to the Mizus I remember?

We went here expecting a good dinner with entertainment for the kids. Arrived at 5:20 and was told we would have to wait until 6pm because they were short cooks. After waiting 20 minutes we were sat at the sushi table. Table was dirty. I had to ask for EVERYTHING… clean table, drinks, plates, boxes, chopsticks, and even the check! What should have been a 30-45min dinner turned out to be a 2 hour long drag. The food was flavorless. The fried rice was so hard I couldn’t eat it. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they didn’t have one! Madness. I do not recommend for the amount you pay versus the quality/service you will receive.

We were lucky enough to be there tonight. The manager came over and asked us if it would be ok if he had a new chef cook for us. He had been cooking in the back for 4 years, it was just his first time infront of people. Let me tell you his food was the best we have ever had there. The manger comped our drinks and desert and discounted our food. Great food and great service!

We had a super awesome time last night at Mizu Japanese Steakhouse! The fried rice was wonderful and the stake, chicken, shrimp, and scallops were perfect. Our chef was very friendly and kept us totally entertained with jokes, spinning utensils and even FIRE! The price is a bit on the top side and totally worth it. We sat nlwith two other couples and git to have fun knowing then while eating. It wasn’t crowded and we had no reservations. however we were seated and served very quickly. Come on down and try it out yourself.

Never given a one star, never walked out, ever. Reservation, party of six all together, seated promptly at 6:30. No contact whatsoever until 6:50, received water. 7:05, received salad and soup. 7:10 first contact with server, ordered drinks and food. 7:15 one of three chefs bypassed our table for one that was seated after us. Drinks arrived 7:25. Asked what was going on. “Problem in the kitchen”. No apologies, no correction, no management in sight. Left drinks on table and departed.
