Hey now! Great day to you. What a place, what an experience!! My time at MIYAMA was exquisite and met with the great company of a dear friend and colleague of mine. We met for lunch, this being my first time here.
I had the EEL AVOCADO, YELLOWTAIL SCALLION and SPICY TUNA ROLLS, and they were fresh, hearty and deeeeeeelicious! The establishment was a total vibe and the staff were gracious. The MUSHROOM SOUP was the perfect starter, especially given the cold out.
I don know when I’ll be, but I when I do find my way to NYC again, Miyama will be my go-to. If you happen to stop in and see me there, don’t stare; say hi and let me know what you’re having, I just might get the same. Happy eating in the meantime!

Food is amazing. Great quality sushi. I had the party tray, hibachi, teriyaki squad all was beyong delicious. The people working here is very nice. Atmosphere is chill vybe. Nice to a date or just to sit and eat.

The best I have had in a long time!!! Mango tempura roll was crisp fresh and not over sauced. The spicy tuna on scallion pancake was so delicious right amount of cool and warm. The 2 roll lunch special is a very generous amount of food. Finally the chicken habachi was perfect, fresh veggies perfectly cooked chicken. The place was very clean, easy parking. Very pleasantly surprised by the high level and taste of sushi at Ridgewood! The sushi is very tasty!!! I tried the hot beef rolls. Rolls of rice with deep-fried fish are hot. The raw fish we ordered was also tender, fresh and delicious. I recommend it!

This is a great Japanese Restaurant. I mean-where do I start?
Let’s go with service first. We were immediately greeted upon entering which is always a great touch. You want to feel “wanted” in any restaurant by staff. The tables were clean and seats were decent with ample seating room.
Our server was Anna and even in the evening she was courteous, smiling and very attentive to our needs and requests. Mind you this is while she was tending to the rest of the restaurant. 5 stars for Anna! Thank you! ☺️
The appetizers were delicious and generous with portioning. As were the main courses. I got the Chicken Bento Box with some assortments of Sushi Rolls. Now let me mention something about Sushi in NYC. As we all know everything is super expensive. Expensive and small in portions. Especially with seafood.
Miyama Sushi and Steakhouse gives the biggest portions I’ve ever tried at any seafood/Sushi restaurant at decent and fair pricing. Mind you I would pay for for the level of quality and, once again, portions. This is the first Sushi “spot” where I had to take some home to eat later. Mind you, I’m 6’4” 250 lbs. Not the biggest guy but larger than most and my appetite is huge.
The culinary design of each dish is unmatched with most other locations. There were two sushi chefs here and I was impressed with the amount of energy these guys had. Their attention to detail and deft skill at designing each sushi food/food item was definitely awe inspiring. I couldn’t see my self working for hours each day doing nothing but spending time feeding hungry people but in a way that requires discipline.
Overall the experience deserves 5 stars for customer service, food quality and environment. Beware: if you come here hungry get a good appetizer because it does take time to “design” each dish. I promise you though, it’s worth the wait. Expect probably a 15-20 minute wait on the main courses.

Let me just say I thank God for MIYAMA coming to the neighborhood. You rarely find a price-friendly restaurant anymore with great service, food, and consistency. Lili is my repeat server, very knowledgeable, friendly, and great at making you feel at home. Now let’s get into the amazing food they have for the price range, their lunch/Dinner specials are out of this world. You can tell nothing is microwaved, or made the day before because of the freshness. If yiu want great quality food, great service that doesn’t break your pockets!!! Visit if you dare to be amazed.

Really good food and ambiance ! My husband and I went for the 1st time and had their lunch special, which they honor even on weekends. We each both got the sushi and the habachi lunch specials because the prices were so good we said why not let’s try a little of everything. We were not disappointed and the portions were big. The presentation of the sushi was awesome and really flavorful; definitely the best I’ve had around the neighborhood. The fried rice for the habachi was excellent. Highly recommend for a nice casual meal in the neighborhood that feels like a treat!
