Miyako Hibachi in Frederick is, without a doubt, our favorite destination for hibachi dining. Every dish is prepared fresh to order, and the service is truly unparalleled. We’ve dined here more times than I can count, and we’ve also enjoyed their carry-out service on numerous occasions.

Our preferred seating area is in the back room, which offers a more intimate dining experience. With a young child, the fire tables are no longer a feasible option for us, but the back room provides a quiet, private oasis away from larger groups. It’s beautifully decorated with charming lanterns, and although the food is still prepared fresh at the fire table, the wait can be a bit longer if they’re waiting to fill the table.

I always enjoy a glass of their excellent Cabernet, while my husband is a fan of their Long Island Iced Tea, complete with a fun and festive umbrella. Before our main course arrives, we are always treated to complimentary miso soup and salad, which is a nice touch. We typically order the hibachi chicken and filet for dinner. The portions are generous, and we always have plenty of leftovers for the following day.

While we aren’t sushi enthusiasts, I can confidently say that everything else on the menu is absolutely delicious and consistently satisfying.

The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and family-friendly, with walls adorned by Polaroid photos of guests who have dined there. There’s even a fun touch with lollipops available at the front desk, adding a little something special for both children and adults alike.

A practical note: the bathrooms are conveniently located to the left of the host stand. They feature two stalls per bathroom, and we’ve never encountered a wait, so the setup is efficient and well-maintained.
Miyako Hibachi is one of our top dining spots in the area, and it was time to share our positive experience with others. They go above and beyond to make every special occasion, from birthdays to holidays, memorable and enjoyable.

とても美味しくて、強くお勧めします。

Our family had a fantastic dining experience at Miyako Japanese Steak House in Frederick. The chef’s cooking display was mesmerizing and captivating. We were all thrilled by the large flames and the chef’s impressive egg-spinning skills, which left us in awe. Each movement was precise and entertaining, keeping both adults and kids on the edge of their seats. The sizzling sounds and delightful aromas added to the enjoyment. It was a fun culinary experience that made our family outing memorable and exciting.

We ate at this Miyako Steak House in Frederick Maryland on Wednesday 12/24/24 (Christmas Eve), at about 4 PM. Food was EXCELLENT and service was OUTSTANDING. A++ experience.

Our party of 7 arrived 30 min late (we called, DC traffic) and were immediately seated at a traditional Japanese style steakhouse table/grill. Our server arrived as we were seated and began taking orders. Drinks arrived in a few minutes, followed by appetizers, soup, and salad. The soup and salad were traditional, and very good. My 4 piece Nigiri Sushi was excellent, cold fresh fish with tasty rice.

Our chef arrived just after we finished appetizers and started cooking. Fried rice first, then meats, seafood and vegetables. Rice was excellent. Meats and seafood were perfectly cooked and so tasty I didn’t even bother with sauces. My scallops were PERFECT, hot and crispy outside, just a little squishy inside and very tasty. Everyone in the party was very happy with the food, and portions were HUGE.

Service was OUTSTANDING. Our server was always in attendance, removing finished plates and always refilling drinks. In total (with tip) we paid $292 or about $42/person for everything. I thought this was very reasonable pricing for the DC area, food quality, portions, and service.

Overall, for this “traditional style” Japanese steakhouse, I’d rate it very high and would eat here again. Compared to other Japanese steakhouses I’ve been at, this was a better experience.

Great value for such a good lunch! They have lunch specials that end at I think 145pm – it’s definitely worth to take a look at if you’re wanting something freshly cooked. We ended up doing take out, and the bag was so heavy, such a good sign.
You end up getting soup, salad, shirt appetizer, fried rice, vegetables and protein. Also the yum yum sauce and ginger sauce for dipping. Both are amazing. We got the filet mignon and it was so soft, cooked perfectly to medium. Even after transporting it home, everything was warm and tasted great.
You almost end up getting full on the soup and salad! The salad has the best ginger dressing. But you want to keep eating once you try the main meal. All of this for 19$ and some change. Great deal!

Only negative I would say is that it’s a little salty- and there could be more egg/flavor? in the fried rice. Still tasty though! A once in a while treat.

I love the atmosphere at Miyako’s. The hibachi meals are delicious and flavorful. The fried rice is a must! I can also eat the hibachi veggies alone, they’re so good. The sushi rolls have very unique combinations and are always a hit.

Easily one of my favorite spots to eat in Frederick.
It doesn’t matter if I’m celebrating a birthday with family or stopping in to pick up an appetizer to go, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Myiako is a Frederick favorite! The hibachi is always delicious, and their sesame salad dressing is unbeatable—we often pop in to buy containers of it to enjoy at home. No additives, just phenomenal flavor. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful. Great food, clean ingredients, and superb service every time.
Highly recommend!
