I have been on a mission to find an acceptable Chinese restaurant in the Denver area. I believe I have found my new spot! They have a location in Broomfield but I visited the Lone Tree location.
I have stopped in twice now in the past few weeks. The 1st visit was more of less a trial – I tend to go very basic on my initial foray to a new spot.
So this meant I ordered the tried and true classics Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef. I don’t eat rice any longer so I requested Lo Mein noodles.
The dishes were excellent – flavorful, perfectly cooked and portioned and there was enough to warrant leftovers which is always a bonus.
I almost forgot to mention that we started with 2 bowls of soup. I went for some wonton soup and my guest had the hot & sour soup. Both were hearty and a nice starter. The broths on both were flavorful and there were ample fillings.
On the 2nd visit, I decided to branch out a bit and go for some house specials. I ordered the Black Pepper Filet and my guest ordered the 3 Cup Chicken Clay Pot. These were very good as well. My dish was served with chunks of filet mignon and green & red peppers. The 3 Cup Chicken was served in a clay pot and had chunks of garlic and ginger. Very good on both dishes although I was just as happy with the standard dishes personally.
The decor is top notch. In the entry way is a very striking statue of what I believe is Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. It is quite the impressive sight on walking in. The tables all have color-changing LED lanterns similar to ones I have at home but with more color options. There are some nice neon signs on the wall as well as a large video screen playing anime.
Even the togo containers and bag are fancy and unique. The containers have the restaurant logo as well as the bag, which is also heavy duty and insulated and would make a great bag for taking a lunch into work.
The servers and manager have been very professional and friendly, and they make you feel right at home. It is a great relief to have found a quality Chinese restaurant with consistently good meals. I will of course be back often.
Their Lone Tree location wasn’t very large, featured a giant Monkey King statue at the entrance, accompanied by a smaller one nearby. The owner probably had a fondness for the Monkey King. The interior was elegantly decorated with a pleasant ambiance, with a private room and a sizable bar counter.
When arrived, it wasn’t too crowded yet, but by lunchtime, customers started coming in steadily and the place was nearly full shortly.
Ordered pan-fried pork buns, juicy soup dumplings, pork and mushroom dumplings, and Wagyu fried rice. Also wanted to try their brown sugar rice cakes, but the server said they were out of stock, so have to try this next time.
It’s worth mentioning that the tableware here was quite high quality, even the napkins felt premium, making a great first impression.
The pan-fried pork buns were among the best in town, soft on top, crispy underneath. The outer layer was fluffy yet chewy, while the bottom was golden brown, crispy, and savory. The filling was tender, and flavorful.
The skin of the soup dumplings was thin but bouncy, with a tender, compact filling. The broth was rich but not overly abundant. Overall the taste was very satisfying.
The skin of the mushroom and pork dumplings was smooth and chewy. The filling was delicate, with a deep, savory taste that balanced the earthiness of the mushroom and the unami of the meat quite well.
The Wagyu fried rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain distinct, fragrant, and chewy, carrying a delightful wok aroma. The stir-fried Waygu beef was tender, while the marbling added depth to the rice’s flavor, resulting in a surprisingly tasty dish.
The Dandan noodles and Crab fried rice with curry of the table nearby looked quite tempting too. Besides the brown sugar rice cakes, will try these two next time.
The Miya Moon in Lone Tree is right acrosss the street from Charles Schwab.
The Mongolian beef is okay, not peppery enough for a typical Mongolian beef but I think they are considering the taste buds of a typical Coloradan.
The plating is great and the service too. My photography skills, not so much. Haha.
The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. The space itself is clean, modern, and comfortable, which makes it a great place for a date night, dinner with friends, or even a relaxed business lunch. Overall, it’s a place I would absolutely recommend and will continue to visit.
The food was absolutely outstanding. I am a very picky eater and it still completely won me over. I cannot wait to come back and try more dishes. The restaurant itself is decorated so cool and the ambiance is top notch. Every detail felt thoughtful, from the beautifully designed takeout bag, which I am definitely keeping, to the overall atmosphere that made it feel like a true five star dining experience.
To make the night even more memorable we were invited to share a celebratory shot with the staff. Both the manager and Lupe were so sweet, fun, and professional. I am beyond impressed by every detail and this visit will always stand out as one of the most unforgettable dining experiences I have ever had.
