Dhaba is a roadside eatery in the Indian Subcontinent mostly found in highways. It is well said that The Dhaba moves wherever a Punjabi goes”. The first Punjabi Dhaba was presumably settled not long after the connecting of the urban communities of India by expressways (national, state and town streets). Dhaba’s were portrayed by mud structures and bunks to sit upon (charpai/moda) while eating. A wooden board would be put over the width of the bunk on which to place the dishes. With time, the beds were supplanted by tables. The food is normally economical and has a ‘homemade’ feel to it. MITRAN DA DHABA is just not the name, it’s a real Dhaba experience.

We visited Mitra Dhaba for lunch today, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and the aroma of authentic Indian food set the tone for a perfect afternoon meal. We ordered the Malai Chaap, which was absolutely delicious — soft, creamy, and perfectly marinated with authentic flavours that melted in the mouth. The Paneer dishes were equally amazing — fresh, flavorful, and cooked with the right balance of spices that reminded us of traditional North Indian dhaba-style food.
The staff at Mitra Dhaba were friendly, polite, and attentive throughout our visit. The service was quick, and everything arrived hot and fresh. We really appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant and the cheerful attitude of the team, which made our lunch even more enjoyable.

Food was yummy and freshly prepared. Each dish had its own hold. Spices were balanced. Naans were so fresh. Would definitely come again. Had dhaba vibes! Loved it!
One downside was that curries cost us $20 each.

We have been going to Mitran Da Dhaba Blacktown since over a year now.
When it comes to The Authentic Indian food, hands down this is the best place.
From tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, tandoori prawn, the tikka’s to their veg & non veg curries, everything is absolutely delightful. The portion size & the pricing is spot on.
Not to forget their breakfast service on weekend is also amazing.
Special mention to their staff. Every one is friendly & always serve you with a smile on their faces!!

We have visited this restaurant with our friends a few times, and every experience has been wonderful. The food and ambience are absolutely amazing. The owner, Shekhar ji, is incredibly warm and welcoming — he personally takes great care of his guests, which makes the place feel very special.

We went for lunch today. Bought chilli chicken and chicken lollipop entrees with garlic naan and chai. The chicken lollipop was really oily and hard to eat. Was really unsatisfied with that. Its not the 1st time we had that, but this time it was actually not good. Chilli chicken was kinda salty, we had some with naan and others packed and brought home but the chicken lollipop we just left there. Really not happy with today’s food.
