This is our fourth time eating at this place and this is the first bad experience with the food. We ordered the Miso Ramen, Katsu Chicken Buns and Edamame. I have ordered Edamame on multiple occasions before but after tonight’s order, it will be my last time and possibly the last time ordering at this place altogether. I was about 4 pods in when I noticed white things moving in one of the pods. I grabbed and it squirmed like a worm. I was so disgusted! I immediately puked my food out. I threw the rest of the food because I did not trust what else I could find in the other food. I called the restaurant to give them the opportunity to be aware of the situation with the food and potentially avoid any other issues with someone that might not be as nice as me. I asked for the manager on duty and was told that there was not one on duty so when I explained the situation to whoever picked up the phone, then he magically said he would transfer me to the manager. Again, explained the problem and was told she needed to refer me to the owner. I kindly asked for a refund for the inconvenience and she said as the manager she isn’t able to. The owner called about 9 minutes later immediately with an attitude saying that she isn’t going to take just a phone call as proof that there was a worm in the food indicating that the edamame is boiled therefore it is impossible for one to be in them. She asked me if I was sure it was worm, or was I imagining it. My mouth dropped when she asked that. I told her not to worry, she’d be able to see the one alive and the one that got squished inside she said she still didn’t believe me. So disappointed because the food here has been great up until this point and the manager and owner sealed it.

The broth is rich, the noodles are on point, and every bite just hits. Perfect place to chill, eat, and leave happy. Definitely coming back for another bowl!!!

Always looking for great Asian restaurants. First time here so we went with a variety of dishes. Started with pork belly buns. These are served on soft, flat folded buns. The pork belly was thick and perfectly matched with the sauce. We tried two different Ramen bowls. The miso concentration made a statement, unlike some other miso ramens I’ve had that were too watery. The curry chicken tasted Indian style. And I got one of my favorite dishes, unagi don. The eel flaked apart easily and was delicious. The serving size was just a bit smaller than I would have expected for the price but with the accompanying seaweed salad and shaved squid accompaniments in the bowl adding variety of flavors and textures, I would definitely get it again. Don’t go here for a cheap meal, go here for a great one. The only disappointment was our purchase of a matcha sake bottle. It tasted great but was almost three times as expensive as what you would buy in a liquor store. My first time here, but definitely not my last.

We stopped here after shopping at the outlets with our toddler who was “soooo hungry” and we all loved it. She especially loved all the collectors toys up as decor and her favorite was the robot bears in a little case. She loved her rice and noodles. My husband had the tomkatsu and pork buns. We enjoyed our time at Mitaka Ramen. The food was good, and the atmosphere very quaint. The location is good, right by the outlets and the menu is fairly simple. Service was very quick and attentive. Our favorite items were the seaweed salad and the pork steamed buns.

I really enjoy eating Mitaka Ramen. The first time I tried it, I was impressed by how rich and flavorful the broth was. The noodles had a great texture—springy and satisfying—and they paired perfectly with the soup. What I like most about Mitaka Ramen is that it truly captures the authentic taste of Japanese ramen. Service was severely lacking. Wouldn’t return. I dined in. Server delivered soup bowl with her thumb IN MY BOWL. Then a male server kept walking by my table coughing and then again blowing his nose. This is just too nasty and unhygienic for me. If they can do all of this in my presence, this assures me they’re nasty and do not follow proper food handling procedures in places where the public cannot see. I also didn’t appreciate the repeat use of that wooden spoon. No no no. This is too bad because the soup was nice and made just as I ordered.

We loved the ramen here! The tan tan men was outstanding! Tons of meat, delicious broth and noodles. The avocado mango salad was fantastic!!! Unfortunately the chicken karage was really dry and lacked flavor. That was disappointing but we will come back for the ramen.

Delicious! We got the Pork Belly Buns, Shumai (fried shrimp dumplings), TanTanMen Ramen (spicy minced pork), and Curry Chicken Rice Bowl. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend this place!
Update: This place is fantastic.. We go about once a month. I always get the TanTanMen Ramen but mix up the appetizers. Everything is delicious!

We came between lunch and dinner on a Saturday and it was mostly empty. Everything was very good and service was fast like you’d expect. The steam buns were excellent with the sweat “bun” was delicious and the pork was seasoned very well. I had Tori Patan which was very good. The servings were large.
