Such a friendly place. Every employee is nice. Most all say hello or acknowledge you. Excellent atmosphere and decor with military and first responders items everywhere. Must be thousands of patches, pins, badges and so much more. The food is delicious. Great amount of choices. They also offer a free sandwich on/for your birthday. Redeemed with an email sent to you.

REALLY AWESOME FOOD! The people are all so sweet! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the HANDMADE FRIES, BRISKET, PULLED CHICKEN… SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! I REALLY like that all the meat comes WITHOUT sauce! At LEAST SEVEN OR EIGHT DIFFERENT SAUCES TO CHOOSE FROM! Personally, I didn’t put anything on my pulled chicken because of the way it was seasoned SO WELL… It didn’t need it! Besides the amazing food and VERY INTERESTING DECOR, they SUPPORT THE MILITARY, VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS AND DONATE TO HELP THEM! I could go on and on and on…. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT FOR YOURSELF! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

O.M.G. The new Black Plate Special is smoked ribeye… And I’m not even sure how it’s legal to be that delicious! Good golly, Miss Molly!. This is now going to be one of the toughest things to keep myself from going there every single day for one.
The black plate special shrimp is hands down one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted in my life. The ONLY way this plate to get any better is if there were twice as many shrimp! The shrimp are perfectly cooked and seasoned.
I have now been coming here to mission BBQ regularly for the last few months for lunches and even a few dinners and I can say that the employees in this establishment are the most highly motivated and helpful and friendly restaurant employees I have encountered anywhere in Central Illinois. Kudos to the management for having such a positive and awesome workforce!
So I had initially posted a poor review for this restaurant due to my initial experience with some repeatedly cold food the first time I went there. Well whatever issues they may have had back then are long gone because I have been going here almost every other day now for the last couple weeks on lunch and on my way home from work for dinner and every single experience has been a home run. The food is hot, fast and delicious. I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone at any time now. The employees are super motivated to help and the kitchen is doing a kick ass job of serving delicious food every time. So glad this is a local restaurant for me… It has transformed my lunch experience from crappy fast food like McDonald’s to first rate quality food that is both filling delicious and perfectly cooked.

This is by far our favorite BBQ in Peoria now. Ribs are so tender they fall off the bone. Pulled pork and brisket are also equally tender and delicious. I love that they have salmon as an option, too. Green beans are too spicy for me, but I have no tolerance for spice. Love the mac and cheese and baked cheesy potatoes. Love their desserts, which are on a rotation. They also have roating Black Plate Specials. Have never had a bad meal there.

Very good BBQ at an okay price. My girlfriend didn’t like the Mac and cheese, but I thought it was good it was different though, I think it had some corn meal in the recipe. I had the brisket sandwich which was more fatty than most places. Beans were phenomenal and overall pleased with our meals.

I’ve been to this location several times and it’s always outstanding. I’ve had brisket, pork, ribs, turkey, both sausages at different times. They have 6 regional bbq sauces at the tables. As the foremost bbq authority in this area I highly recommend this place.

Order carry out tonight. Brisket was incredibly fatty, ribs had very little meat. The food we got looked nothing like the pictures in the menu. Will not be back.

Went on Aug 10 in the afternoon; our car broke down in Bloomington and had to be towed back home, we decided to come here to eat. I got the smoked cheeseburger with baked beans w/ brisket, and fries, my wife got the moist brisket, half bird and the black plate special; shrimp of the BBQ, for us to share.
Everything is and was delicious and hot the spot. It’s become our favorite spot to go, and it definitely made our day a bit better since the food is what we needed after a rough day. The staff is always nice and amazing.
I also love their sweet tea since I can’t drink soda, it’s by far the best I’ve had at any restaurant.

Always friendly, always delicious. My favorite is the pulled pork, fries and a mix of sweet tea & lemonade. Love that they make the sauces in house. Even bought some to take home.
