If I could shake Miss Myra’s hand, I would!! They had my plate in my hands before I could even fill up my drink cup. The staff were super sweet, and MAN was the food good. Really moist pork and excellent barbecue sauce. My highlight of the experience was the dessert.

I had the chicken plate with potato salad and cole slaw, the cole slaw is vinegar based and was very good. The potato salad was tasteless, it just had no flavor. My wife had a small pork plate with green beans, which are amazing and potato salad, she also said it was tasteless. The banana pudding made my wife cry, it was just like her Nanny’s. The chocolate chess pie was amazing. Definitely a place to go back too. #AndrewZimmerman

I got the pleasure of having Miss Myra’s granddaughter take my order and serve me. Friendly and straight forward with the menu. If you are looking for something frilly this isn’t it.. Good old fashioned Alabama BBQ with banana pudding made from scratch. This is the CHEERS of BBQ everyone knows your name and face of your a regular and there is no shortage of regulars here. I had the combo plate with 2 meats (chicken and pork), chicken was awesome, pork a little dry but great smoke flavor and when I added some red sauce it juiced it up . Baked beans has a good taste with what seems to be a hint of honey.. I did get the banana pudding for desert and it was absolutely delicious. It was nice to relax and people watch while Myra and her team interacted with customers and served them up some great food.

Came here to try the BBQ after seeing all the good reviews. Order at the counter and food came out pretty quickly. Came here after 1pm on Saturday. No wait. Ribs are incredible, and probably the only meat I would come back for. Brisket was a bit dry. Chicken sandwich was not bad, especially if you put their white BBQ sauce – probably the best white sauce I have had. Potato salad is a can’t miss as well.

We are visiting from Washington, DC and wanted bbq. Google lead us here with the great reviews and I’d like to leave another. What a wonderful experience we had today with our Pork family meal! My daughter, grandchildren, and I were very pleased with the offerings and the amount we received. The coleslaw reminded me of my Grandmother’s back in the day. The sauces were great, especially the white one! We will be back! Thank you for providing such wonderful Alabama bbq!

Plan on a stop here. Just simply plan a stop. Andrew Zimmern not only stopped here, but said on TV it’s one of the places he’ll fly to for lunch. This is the reason I made it a stop on my travel list. The place is an old school mom and pop style.
The decor won’t impress you, if you’re looking for fancy. It’s just functional, which is all it needs to enjoy good food.
The ambiance in general is a good one. Employees are friendly, and so are the customers, and you are all there for the common reason of good food. It’s clear by the customer/employee chatter that there are regulars that stop in. We spoke to several that said they come every day for lunch. In fact, they suggested we try the chicken salad sandwich made with their smoked chicken. While I was all for that, I also wasn’t going to give up some of the smoked chicken itself either, so we got an assortment to share, so we could try a few different things.
Neither one of us thought any of the sides stuck out much. They were decent, and nothing wrong with them, but also nothing to say “you must try these” to anyone. As for the rest, we got 1/4 smoked chicken, some pulled pork and the chicken salad sandwich. All 3 of them were very good. I’m not sure I’d place them above some spectacular ones I’ve had elsewhere, but they were certainly delicious.
This is a great and known place to stop by. Some of the workers have been there for decades. It’s an old school small town feel, with great BBQ, and a pleasant atmosphere.
