Social Profile:

Miss Kim, opened in 2016 as a proud part of the Zingerman’s Community of Businesses. Chef Ji Hye Kim grew up in Seoul, South Korea and is obsessed with ancient Korean culinary texts and the finer points of fermentation. Despite rumors of its eponymous origin, the name Miss Kim was chosen for its reference to the most recognizable Korean last name and our restaurant’s female chef-owner. Our food is rooted in Korean tradition & adapted to showcase Michigan’s bountiful produce. We work with local farmers to build a menu that shines seasonally. We want our restaurant to be a bright, fun & easy place to be for all our guests. Our service aims to be helpful, informative, warm and enthusiastic – everything you’ve come to expect from Zingerman’s.

Trendy spot for traditional Korean fare with a modern, seasonal twist in contemporary surrounds.

Metered parking lot located in the Kerrytown shopping area made visiting this restaurant convenient. The broccolini was excellent— perfect crisp texture and packed with flavor. It was definitely my favorite dish. The pork belly bibimbap was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and even provided my child with a complimentary banana flavored milk that she loved.

Definitely an Americanized place. If I lived here, I would come again. They even spelt bibimbap like bibimbob it was funny. I loved the tofu and the place was a fun ambiance. Overall the area was nice and there is parking available. It’s super American. It’s cool to see.

The roasted pork belly melted in my mouth. It was incredible. The rest of the bowl was good but next time would try something else but also order a side of the pork. Korean fried chicken was also very good. Fun place with great ambience.

I think I might be jumping the gun on this one, but I’d like to put my two cents in and say, if you enjoy Korean dishes or would just like to try something, I think this could be a good option for you. I’m not native to this city so I only tried it once while I was briefly in town, but based on first impressions, if I am in Ann Arbor again, I will come back. I needed a quick snack/ micro dinner, and I tried their inspired rendition of tteokbokki and I thought I’ve tried almost every version, but this was a win for me and my favorite which is slightly fried rice cakes with pork belly, topped with cheese and an egg, sweet and spicy. They have a relatively small parking lot and do offer paid/ metered parking in close-by areas. The atmosphere seemed very laid back as it was getting busier and busier. My order was to go and was on time and was helped by a kind staff member. If I had to come up with some sort of con, I would say the prices are a little high vs the quantity. But like I said I would come back.

It was a okay place for me as Korean. If you experience Korean food for the first time, this place is good to start! But if you are looking for authentic Korean dish, this isn’t the case. Also it’s a bit pricey.

Moving to Ann Arbor for grad school and just had the most lovely meal here to welcome me to the city. We say outside with nice plants and benches. Our waitress brought out an extra stool for us and she brought us complimentary smashed potatoes. Very attentive and helpful staff. Food was great and delicious – some of the best Korean food I’ve had!

Very nice Korean restaurant, clean and cozy. Food is delicious, but certain dishes are very small, it may not enough for some. Price is kind of on the high side too.
