We had country ham, country, fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese and apple Betty (Sweet potatoes with baked apples) and everything was so delicious and I highly recommend all of it. We also tried coconut and butterscotch pie. Not only were they delicious but they had the most beautiful meringue ever On a pie and I’m Not usually a big fan of meringue on my pies but theirs was pure perfection and I actually liked how it tasted.
You can’t beat the prices especially for the amount of food you get.
We live in Louisville but my dad has a Lakehouse at Barren River Lake so we go down there several times a year and Miss Betty’s will now be a place we will frequent when we are headed down to the lake or home from the lake.
We haven’t had breakfast there yet but it looks amazing from the photos we’ve seen so we hope to try that soon as well.
Go try it, you won’t be disappointed!!!
We came all the way from Bowling Green to try this place, and it was 100% worth it! I hope we get to come back soon!
The food is simply delicious – everything tasted homemade and prepared with care. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the sides were full of flavor. Portions are generous, and prices are more than fair, especially for the quality and taste.
The staff were super friendly, and you can tell they genuinely loves serving their customers. If you’re looking for an authentic, home-cooked meal in a warm and inviting setting, Miss Betty’s is the place to go! Highly recommended!
My wife had the grilled catfish. She’s normally not much of a fish person, but she loved it. Whatever seasoning they use was perfect. The homestyle rolls were incredible.
I had the Roast Beef Manhattan. Even though it seems like one of the less popular items on the menu (based on what everyone around me was ordering), it was very good and tasted just like my grandparents’ roast beef from when I was growing up.
The atmosphere is very cozy, and it felt like we were there at a time when a lot of locals were having dinner. Everyone seemed to know each other, which was really delightful to see. Nancy was our server, and she was super friendly and attentive.
We also tried dessert: butterscotch pie and German chocolate cake. Both were exactly what you’d hope for from a place like this, very homestyle and very good.
At first glance, the place might seem a little disheveled. I guess it technically is, but the charm doesn’t just excuse the lack of polish, it kind of makes it essential to the whole experience. It feels like eating dinner on a back porch in the country and reminds me of a simpler, kinder time.
The prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. I didn’t order it, but the fried catfish dinner seemed to be everyone’s favorite. I saw it go by our table multiple times, and it looked and smelled great. I kind of wish I had tried it.
