The wine wise they had a decent selection with fair pricing. We started with the octopus, which was beautifully delicate, though it came on a bed of what seemed to be taro, unfortunately too mushy and not the best pairing. The truffle cod was the highlight: cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and nicely complemented by microgreens, which also worked well with the octopus.
We ended the meal by sharing the ramen special of the night. It was generous in size and rich in flavor, definitely comforting.
The space itself felt a bit too dark and moody for my taste, which clashed with the eclectic menu and overall tone. Still, despite the identity confusion, it was an enjoyable dinner.
The Beet was good. We would return, but have a couple of wishes.
We ordered the Brussel sprouts, which were good overall, but would have been better with more flakiness and a bit less central mush.
I had the Korean BBQ quesadilla which was the best of what we ordered. It was fantastic and the scallion pancake as “tortilla” was superb. Loved the pork. The menu indicated the side of slaw would have pineapple in it, but I didn’t detect it. And I could have done with less BBQ sauce (too much on the top). But overall I loved the dish.
My wife got the chicken burger and it was tasty. While you might appreciate a good amount of meat, the burger was really too thick, especially in comparison to a brioche bun that got soggy way too quickly. Her sweet potato fries were excellent, perfectly crispy.
Service was okay. It was busy, but could have been better. The drink (water) service was great, always coming around to refill which is good for me as I drink a lot. But we waited a bit to get the check. Not a huge deal.
Overall, very good.
The Coctails were amazing !!!
Great lunch options. Personal opinion that lunch is better than the dinner.
Definitely will stop by for that spicy margarita.
We had the vegetable gyoza/steamers, and honestly they were simply not good. The flavor was lacking, but it was weird that the inside was a mix of puree and whole veggies. And then we had the fried rice and it was mediocre. Meat was not flavorful but the rice was so-so.
Atmosphere was fine. Definitely wouldn’t go back!
1. The food is delicious. Everything I have ordered here has been top quality and flavorful. It’s SO good.
2. The restaurant is easily accessible and right in historic downtown.
3. They offer delivery and you can also pick up. Either way I have done takeout our food has been easy to get and fantastic.
4. Friendly staff!
If you are thinking of eating here give it a try! You will pay a little more but it’s worth it.
Highly recommend.
