Went to Misimi – Hibachi | Asian Fusion | Sushi | Bar and had a really nice experience. The ambience truly gives an Asia-like vibe — very warm and welcoming. It was a bit tricky to find at first since the restaurant is on the second floor, but if you take the left-side drive, you’ll get there easily.
Food highlights:
Tom Yum Soup: Really good, mild spice level which made it enjoyable.
Kani Salad: Absolutely awesome.
Crab Rangoon: Yummy and crispy.
Shrimp Roll: Wow — very fresh and tasty.
Misimi Roll (Tuna & Avocado): Delicious and well balanced.
Drunken Noodles: Flavorful and satisfying.
Desserts:
Yuzu Cheesecake: Light, citrusy, and refreshing.
Japanese Tempura Ice Cream: So good — perfect sweet finish.
Overall, the food felt fresh and relatively healthy, the atmosphere was lovely, and the experience was worth it. Would definitely visit again!

The food and overall atmosphere were genuinely enjoyable. Everything we ordered tasted great, and the space itself was comfortable and inviting. Unfortunately, our experience was noticeably dampened by the service.
Our waitress seemed intent on rushing us through the meal, subtly but consistently, without ever saying anything outright. It felt like we were being pushed to leave as quickly as possible. For instance, she gave us a to-go box for the food 10 minutes after we had received it, without us ever asking, and then immediately gave us the check without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else.
What made this more frustrating was that another party she was serving, who arrived before us, was allowed to stay and dine at a relaxed pace even after we had already finished and left. This made us feel profiled based on our age rather than treated like equal customers. It’s disappointing because the food and atmosphere deserved better service to match, and I come here often and every other waiter is great.

The best place for Sushi, period. Bo and his staff are incredible hosts and the food is always A+. Great selection of specialty sushi rolls. Try the Split Rock Volcano roll. Melts in your mouth its so good. If you dont love Sushi, the hibachi and fusion menus are great too.

I ordered takeout from Misimi (in Shelton CT) about a week ago and stopped in around 7:30 PM. After placing my order, I waited at the bar for nearly an hour without a single update or check-in from staff. When I finally asked about my order, the hostess — who identified herself as the manager — told me that my ticket had never been printed and the kitchen was already closed. (Whoever was working stated herself as the manager on a Friday night.)
After waiting all that time, I left with no dinner and no meaningful attempt to correct the mistake. Being offered a free dessert for a future visit did not resolve the fact that my order was completely overlooked and I was left without a meal late in the evening while my fiancé was waiting for me at home.
The front-of-house handling of this situation reflected a serious lack of organization, accountability, and basic customer awareness. A simple follow-up on outstanding orders could have prevented this entirely. This experience was frustrating, disappointing, and far below what should be expected when placing a takeout order. I will NEVER be coming here again.

I can’t believe I live so close and just discovered Misimi! This spot is tucked away in the back of a plaza on a busy road, and I’m so glad we finally gave it a try. We’ll definitely be back often! The menu is packed with Asian fusion options, so there’s always something new to try. The homemade crab Rangoon and duck bao bun specials really stood out for us. We have high standards for bao buns, and these were perfect—soft, fluffy, and not dry at all!
The ambiance was also a pleasant surprise—such a beautiful setting for a hibachi night. Our server was fantastic, even suggesting we try the garlic aioli with the bao buns, which was a total game-changer. They also have great lunch and happy hour deals that make it even better. I can’t say enough good things about this place—it’s a must-try!

First time here, absolutely loved it. High class, great taste, fantastic service, I will definitely be telling friends about this place.
Also they pump EDM music which is so my vibe, just need a few strategically placed sub woofers lol.

This is my second time coming here within the same month. There’s something for everybody. The food is amazing and the main course portions are definitely more than enough. The staff are very kind and accommodating to any modifications and/or requests. It’s a lovely environment for a regular dinner out, date night, celebration, etc.
For the main course menu, you can substitute white rice for fried rice for $3. However, for the cost as well as the portion of meat they give you, the portion of the rice can be a bit more. I also believe the chicken was soggy and could be more crunchy. All in all, the food was still excellent.
I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.

This place is fabulous! There was no wait for a regular table at 6:30 and they were very busy. We had sushi and hibachi, both on point. Their ginger dressing is by far the best I have had. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I have celiac disease and saw positive reviews on the app FindMeGF and was looking forward to having a meal here. There’s a key at the bottom of the menu that had GF and peanut allergen icons… but not a single item on the menu was labeled GF. I asked the waitress to point out a few things I could eat, and she spoke over me and asked what I wanted. I asked if the pad Thai could be made GF. She said yes. The food comes out, and it’s just rice noodles with egg and chicken. I asked her if it was supposed to come with sauce and she snapped at me that the sauce wasn’t GF. I would have ordered something else had I known that I would be getting plain rice noodles. The lack of labeling on the menu despite having a key on it was frustrating and the food itself wasn’t good.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time, we dined in, and yesterday we experienced the hibachi grill! Their sushi appetizers are absolutely amazing—definitely my favorite! They are so flavorful and simply delicious.
Although the service was good during our hibachi experience yesterday, the hibachi itself (I tried the house special) was not the best.
Despite that, I’ll continue coming back for their sushi and appetizers! The ambiance is also very nice.
