Social Profile:

Mishkenut Mediterranean Cuisine is founded by a superlative chef named Abe Hinnawi. His idea to open up a restaurant has been an obsession since he was a young man. It all started while working with his uncle at a renowned restaurant in a city in West Jerusalem in 1975. This restaurant was mostly famous for local celebrities and government officials. After years of practice and perfection, Abe’s famous entrées are finally being served to everyone. His pristine plates and intricate flavors are mouth watering and superior. From his famous fillet mignon dipped in pepper sauce to his funghi mushrooms to his pink salmon topped with lemon and garlic.

Shawarma, baba ghanoush & other Mediterranean eats are the draw at this casual, family-owned eatery.

Mishkenut Mediterranean Cuisine is hands down my favorite place for Mediterranean food. I ordered the falafel, Pollo Limon, beef shawerma, and baklava, and as always, I was never disappointed.

The beef shawerma was incredibly flavorful, and that rice is absolutely perfect every time. The falafel is the best, always fresh, crunchy, and satisfying, never dry or stale. I tried something new with the Pollo Limon, and wow… the chicken was juicy and full of flavor with just the right amount of lemon. I also tried the baklava for the first time, so delicious and now officially added to my favorites list.

Overall, 10/10 and a must-try.

The customer service is also top-notch. I believe her name is Hal (sorry if I’m mistaken), but every single time I come in she is extremely pleasant and welcoming. It truly feels like coming to a family dinner. She is accommodating and takes great care in her service, which makes the experience even better.

Highly recommend!

One of the very few restaurants that still cooks with passion! The food NEVER fails me. I really enjoy getting the Mishkenut Special for 2. It provides plenty of food for 2 and then some leftovers. Everything comes out fresh and hot. I order 30 min or more in advanced and everything is ready on time. Great food and great customer service!

Hal is a wonderful host and an impressive one-person team during the day. I had the Turkish coffee, lentil soup, and kefta kabob—everything was absolutely amazing!

Park in the back and prepare for some delicious food!

Be advised: you will have to wait a bit! But let me tell you it is 100% worth the wait! The girl in the kitchen is a boss! She is taking orders, making delicious food from scratch, and being an amazing hostess/cashier/server. You will have to wait for a few minutes so don’t come if you’re in a hurry! I had the combination platter to try a little bit of everything. And omg I loved everything! Fresh and creamy hummus, tender and perfectly seasoned meat/chicken, and delicious rice! Lovely! Recommended. Call ahead to place orders for a shorter wait.

100% must if you like Mediterranean, and probably even if you don’t. As they poke fun of in the restaurant, things do take a while, so be ready for that or call ahead.

The food competes with the best spots I’ve had even in the city. We got the Mish special. Flavors were fantastic, meat cooked perfectly, everything piping hot.

It’s quiet in the restaurant, cozy little space but the food is far beyond the looks of the storefront.

I’ve wanted to try it for a long time, but now will be back whenever I’m passing through.

I was lucky enough no wait time. So glad I stopped by for dinner. Hummus & falafel just what you expect as if you are traveling in the middle east. The grape leaves the only restaurant in the US that I ever been serve them as they are intended to be served, hot. That’s how you eat grape leaves and taste like my late mom cooking. Thank you for bringing joy during my business travel. Hal greets you with a smile & is also the chef in the kitchen. What a gem of a place

Stopped in during the start of there dinner rush and in their defense they warned us it may be a while. Well, we waited and it was well worth it. Extremely good food. I’ll definitely be coming back or maybe do what was seemingly everyone else who like this place does a order carryout.
