This place is all about the location and the view. While the food was decent and served buffet style, the view as night fell was just spectacular. There was ample space for both large groups and smaller groups/couples looking to dine. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. I’d recommend coming here during any visit to San Jose.

The view is very enjoyable, and the place offers good food. Additionally, there are multiple walkable paths that you can explore and take pictures with the city view as background. You must know that there’s a shoe, and there’s a fee for it (FYI).

The only thing this restaurant gets going for it is the view. The food was not good at all. I had the chimichurri beef and something was off, not sure if it was the meat or the sauce, but I was genuinely worried I was going to get sick after eating it. I couldn’t even finish it. The salad and vegetables on the side also didn’t look very fresh. The menus were dirty and falling apart, which is probably a sign of the conditions inside the kitchen. Some people in my party enjoyed their meal, but this was a big no no for me. Service was ok, but some people seemed to be annoyed that they had to attend to us.

The restaurant is a little out of the way, but the long drive up the hill results in a beautiful view of San Jose. The food was very good, as was the service. Definitely a nice restaurant for a wonderful dining experience. If it is raining, bring an umbrella and a jacket to keep warm and dry.

MAGICAL. 180° Views!! Best EVENING restaurant in the city. Buffet style place (small, but great food e anyone lived). The view is everything! But also a delightful cultural experience! The dancers/dinner show was enchanting, and “limbo” dance was fun for the kids & couples both! We found out the owner is almost always on-site, owned it for 40yrs(!), and will walk u thru the mini-museum of artifacts he has collected over time, and tell you all about the culture of you’d like, but it’s not mandatory.
Absolutely ENCHANTING restaurant! (Open-air restaurant but all eating areas COVERED so even if it rains, it’s not a problem.)
Had a variety of seating options for all ages/ size groups, so works great for romantic anniversaries/honeymooners/couples, or biz meetings, or children’s groups all welcome; separated well so noise is no bother.
*Take only a SUV or V8/Van like an UberXL to get there (VERY steep hills cars will have difficulty).
*Do not wear pointy heels; must be able to walk stone pathway/stone stairs to access their special location.

It’s a beautiful place with a wonderful view. It has a lookout point overlooking the entire city of San José. At night, it’s spectacular, especially at sunset. The whole place is a viewpoint. It has several nice, albeit rustic, areas and spaces. Nothing luxurious. Wooden chairs, metal plates. Very good service. There’s a small gift shop. The only difficult part is the climb up and then the descent to get there. Lots of hills and the road is narrow. But the view is worth it.

For our last night in San Jose, I wanted to take my girls to a memorable place to eat. I had researched, and I discovered that Mirador Tiquicia had one of the best views in the city. I don’t have a point of comparison, but the view was spectacular. The restaurant was huge, but not many people on that night. We were served by a very courteous waiter named Ronal. He was bilingual as many Costa Ricans seem to be. The food was quickly delivered and devoured. Before we left Ronal gave us a sample of the hot sauce to take home. The drive with all it’s turns was an adventure but we’ll worth it. Plenty of parking available.

The view (especially at night) is great here. You will need to drive up for a while to get here, but it’s worth it. The place is huge, it has gardens and different spaces for a nice dinner, having fun with friends or a special celebration. The menu has a lot of options, including typical costa rican dishes. The food quality and presentation are good (but not great). Great option not so far from downtown San Jose.
