So pleasantly surprised to find that this Mios uses slices of Roma tomato. The pizza Blanca was great! Close to the way it was made at the Hyde park location that’s now closed. It’s better with the sauce as Alfredo. Not sure why it changed. I had to take off a star for the environment. The dining room needs a good scrubbing. I don’t understand why restaurants don’t value cleanness any more. Or some don’t. The server was attentive.

Pitiful, I ordered a calzone with meatball, pepperoni and extra cheese. It came out flat and no larger than a small slice of pizza.
I found three small squares of meatball, three pepperoni and unlike a true Calzone there was no ricotta in it.
$12 for a small horrible calzone.
It was so bad, I pulled up pictures of other calzones I have been impressed with and showed them to the server, she didn’t care.
My buddies pizza was meh.
Skip this place and go to a better Italian restaurant.

We just love Mio’s! My kids were so excited to get the heart shaped pizza and we even got our favorite booth!

Granted, we only had the French onion soup. But it was good. And we are kind of snobs for our French onion. :).

Read good reviews on Google and it was about 1/2 mile from where we were staying. It’s a small establishment, but has a very comfortable atmosphere. Definitely feels like all the people besides us were locals. Good variety of menu items typical of Italian–calzones, lasagna, pizzas, salads. But they did have Chicago style deep dish pies. We definitely wanted to try a deep dish pie. While not as good as a Chicago pie, it was still very good for what it was. We ordered wings as well which were very good. Our server was working the whole restaurant by himself with a hostess doubling as a busser. It was fairly steady. Dishes were not cleared away and the only time they stopped by the table was to take our order, to bring our food and bring the check. Our server was definitely nice but overworked. I think I saw the manager come out look around and walk to the back again. We didn’t really care that much but I’m not sure I’d come regularly if it was like that consistently. Food was very good.

We stopped here for lunch on a whim and boy were we glad we did. The pizzas and lasagna we had were incredibly good. I don’t know if this is a “hidden gem”, but it’s a gem for sure. The Chicago style deep dish is every bit as good as anything I had in Chicago. Will definitely come back, well worth the drive.

A baby was being a baby and having a bad moment while inside. It happens we all know that and patience is all that’s needed.
But the manager told them to hold down the noise
Horrible attitude not going back.

It’s probably been over 30 years since I last ate there. My 87 years old mother wanted to eat there. Generally I think it’s the best for the price in the area. The young lady who first asked us to order drinks told us it’s half price wine night. I ordered one glass from the young waiter. The bill, however, had full price. The waiter told me the half price special is for bottles only, so beware.
I’m not a fan of plastic plates.

Nice little restaurant. The service was good, and my buddy and I enjoyed the food. The deep dish pizza was interesting that it had a crispy crust. It was good and held up well. I’m used to a more pan style. It was kind of like a deep dish with a thin crust. It definitely worked. Added the sesame seeds per everyone’s recommendations, and it was a nice addition. Also, to note, the glasses are huge, and they had very large straws, which made washing it all down pretty easy. My buddy and I got the larger (18″?) Deep dish, and each had half of our side to take home. We probably could have split the small and been just right for 2.
