Heavens ReJoyce and let the trumpets sound this is the best Italian mix cuisine I have ever had in my life!

I could write a short novel on how much I enjoyed this place. No seriously, I could literally have a start, middle and end with storytelling of the thoughts, navigation process, the entrance, the welcome, to the service, to the drinks and how they were craftily prepared, to the ordering process to receiving the food, then transitioning into the last chapter featuring the deserts being brought out to us to choose from elegantly displayed and described.

Maybe I’m just a newbie at this foodie thing but my goodness I will make it my mission to visit this place weekly if not monthly and treat others to dinners here whenever I get the chance!

My pictures and video don’t do it justice as the lighting was nice and calmly low lit for a beautiful atmosphere but I still wanted to share them!

We had a great dinner here. Made reservations ahead of time as recommended and were sat on time. Drink selection and appetizer selection was great. Staff was very attentive. They had the patio open and windows open to the patio which made it a little cool inside but it was pleasant overall.

The food was outstanding. I had the chicken Marsala and red sauce pasta side. Very good and make to authentic style. All the meals at the table were a hit.

We were told about some great weekday lunch specials and plan to be back soon!

First visit to Mio Osteria. The service was excellent; a team effort. I was looking forward to the cannelloni special but it was quite popular and they had run out. Instead, I had the chicken piccata and my wife had the salmon. Both were excellent. It was quite loud as you had to lean in to have a conversation. I will return.

The food was excellent for all four of us. Service was just right. It is a bit pricey. The Google Maps header shows $20-$30. Maybe that’s just entrees. But we had two entrees, one appetizer, one mixed drink. The bill was $113. The atmosphere was ok. Lots of people packed into one modern architecture room. A little noisier than I would have liked. No major complaints. We all agreed that it was a nice meal.

We came here for a celebration dinner and had such a great experience! The food, drinks and the service were all incredible. There were so many small touches that just made our evening so great. I had dinner at the Ritz Carlton the week before coming here and the service at Mio Osteria was miles beyond. Highly recommend the Bolognese, squid ink pasta, the steak and whatever specials they’ve cooked up. We’ll be back!

This small little place is quaint with good Frank Sinatra type music over a speaker. The service is spot on starting with a bread basket and top self olive oil that your server brings out as she or he introduces themselves. The food is wonderful. Also the Wine choices are perfect. We eat here a lot during lunch the sandwiches, salads and soups are fantastic. Can’t wait to try out dinner.

The hype is real! Delicious authentic Italian. This place is busy for a reason, it is worth it though. Every dish from our appetizers including calamari and toasted ravioli to our entries of fettuccine and mushroom ravioli were perfectly prepared with just right portions. The fettuccine was the best I ever tried, super creamy and decadent. It was very busy at lunch and it did take a little while to receive our order and the server missed one drink, but this was very understandable considering how busy they were. In my opinion the best Italian in the metro east and this one can compete with some of the best in St. Louis.

Loved the experience, food and service. Lauren was our waitress and she was excellent. The bartender made some of the best old fashions and even was kind enough to chat with us about them. Definitely recommend.

A Mixed Experience in Downtown Edwardsville

Recently, I visited a small, bustling restaurant in downtown Edwardsville with high hopes for a post-holiday gathering. While the atmosphere was lively and reservations were accommodating for our larger group, the experience left me with mixed feelings.

The limited menu immediately stood out—not a kid-friendly spot, and not ideal for those looking for a wide variety of options. Service was efficient, and our server was attentive and personable, but the overall experience was overshadowed by a few key issues.

On the positive side, the cauliflower dish was the highlight of the night—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. I’d gladly return just for that! The pistachio chicken Alfredo was good but could have been better if the sun-dried tomatoes were fully cooked; their crunchiness detracted from an otherwise creative dish. While the salad was fine, many menu items felt repetitive, with ingredients appearing unnecessarily in multiple dishes.

One sour note came with the wine service. I specifically ordered a $25 bottle but was served a $40 bottle without being informed. I only realized the switch after reviewing the bill at the end of the evening, which left a bad taste in my mouth.

While the patio looked inviting and the crowd indicates the restaurant is doing something right, I personally wouldn’t return. The menu, while creative, is too limited and pricey for my taste. For those seeking a quaint, intimate date night with a small selection of dishes, this could be a good fit. However, for diners like me who enjoy exploring a menu’s variety, there are other places I’d try before returning .
