Social Profile:

Wesley T. Hall opened the first Minute Man restaurant on May 26, 1948, starting out as a coffee shop with 24-hour service. In 1956, Hall bought out the other partners and converted the flagship store at 407 Broadway into a fast-food establishment. Once Hall bought the business, he was quick to convert its menu from America’s favorite wake up call to a classic American food: delicious, charcoal grilled hamburgers. Over the next 26 years, his businesses skyrocketed to success. A winning recipe, fast service, and a hardworking staff led to fifty-seven Minute Man locations in three states.

Mrs. Linda and family were so nice. The burgers were great. It was my 1st time, and I will be back. My brother talks about this place all the time. And I finaly got him to take me. Please stop by and see these wonderful folks. Enjoy a burger or tacos of fries. I am hungry just thinking about it

So we decided to try Minute man in Jacksonville today and we will never go back. First of all, the burgers are dry and have no flavor unless you eat around the edges and they taste burnt. Second, I ordered a double cheeseburger with my order with everything and it had 1 tomato, a few pickles and some chopped onions. 30.00 in the trash and we are now cooking dinner at home because this was such a disaster. I would love to comment that my dogs ate good but I have pics where the dog took a bite and left the rest. The only reason they got 1 star is it wouldn’t let me post without it.

Have eaten here for years. Love the tacos and cheese dip. When this place closes, it will be a very sad day.

This review is a little late but I’ll write it anyway. I used to eat at a Minute Man in Memphis when I was a kid. Unfortunately that location closed decades ago and I just assumed the chain had gone out of business. Then in the late 80’s/early 90’s I was in El Dorado on business and what did I see off to the side of the main drag but the familiar Minute Man sign I remembered from so long ago. I obviously made a bee line for it. They still had the familiar charcoal grill and the place looked pretty much like the one I remembered so I had a burger, fries and one of the absurdly hot microwave pies. I ate there several more times while I was in town, sort of mixing it up with a place called The Spice of Life Tea Room, Ebby’s Diner, Tiger Harry’s, a Chinese place on the north side (Hunan Restaurant??) and on occasion a place called The Brass Ring which had it’s own story. I’m glad to see the place hanging in there and if I am ever in El Dorado again I will certainly make a point of stopping in for the standard bill of fare. Hang in there.

Still great. Drive-thru is the only option now. But that’s completely fine.

The LAST Minute Man in existence. Ran by great people that have stayed 100% original! If you remember the legend, you need to get to El Dorado and grab a few burgers while you still can!

Great tasting burgers. Get the double patty. Patties are pretty thin. Cheap prices. Been a favorite of mine since the 80’s. Drive thru only right now so call ahead or be patient in the drive thru line.

Hamburgers were always dry and overcooked. Wife’s Taco salad was hit and miss.

We thought the chicken was over cooked. Parts of it were burnt. The amount if food did not match the price. The sauce was good and the sides were good but too little for a family of 4

It’s better than before. I remember the patties being smaller. My salad burger had three large slices of tomato. The fries are fresh tasting and seasoned instead of the old krinkle cut fries. My next time through I substituted a well prepared black beans and rice for the fries with a small upcharge. I’m tired of French fries and there were many sides to choose from. I’ve traveled twice from Little Rock just to eat there and have been well pleased. There are no good drive throughs in LR that can compete. I’m very happy they have returned. It’s better than Black Angus, the second best in the LR area
