A very reliable go-to spot for American brunch and a relaxed weekend hangout. The food here is always beautifully presented, with creative recipes that lean toward fresh, health-conscious ingredients. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and consistently delicious.

I originally discovered this place for their mix-and-match waffle or toast plates — you can try four different flavors with just two pieces of toast, which is such a fun idea. My go-to combination is smoked salmon and fig, balancing savory and sweet perfectly. If you enjoy drinks, their matcha selection is fantastic, and the lavender latte is looks so beautiful and tastes so soothing.

The space itself is just as charming — cozy, slightly rustic, and decorated with delightful colors that make it feel warm and inviting. The outdoor seating area is especially lovely, dog-friendly, and perfect for enjoying a lazy sunny brunch. Seasonal specials also keep things interesting and make it easy to come back again and again.

I walked into Mints & Honey around 9:15am and was initially helped by a friendly cashier who walked me through the menu since I hadn’t been in a while. I asked for recommendations for something filling, and she suggested the toast sampler. I ordered, paid about $30, and found a seat. At the time, there were easily 15–20 open seats in the café.

About few minutes later, a server (wearing glasses) approached me with a sign stating “No laptops on weekends.” There was no greeting, no acknowledgment that I had just ordered, and no apology — just the sign. I asked whether, after paying $30 for breakfast, I wasn’t even able to sit for an hour to enjoy my food and briefly use my laptop. His response was simply that they could issue a refund.

What was most disappointing wasn’t the policy itself — businesses are entitled to set policies — it was the complete lack of customer service. There was no “I’m sorry,” no explanation about weekend traffic, no offer to let me at least enjoy my food before leaving. Meanwhile, there were still plenty of open seats.

It felt abrupt and unwelcoming, especially after just placing a full-priced order. A little empathy or hospitality would have gone a long way.

Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, I won’t be returning. Management should be aware of how situations like this are communicated — especially to paying customers.

I ordered the salmon avocado toast and it was very disappointing. They painted a thin layer of avocado on top with 4 small pieces of salmon. For $17 ($20) after tax and tip? That is absolutely ridiculous and definitely not worth the price. This place used to be a lot better, especially their san carlos location. They used to season the toast a lot more and used to drizzle oilve oil on top of their salmon avo toast, it was very flavorful. Now it’s very skimpy, dry, and essentially flavorless. Cute place and nice location, but the food is just okay and doesn’t justify the high price tag. Maybe the location is the reason for high prices? Or labor costs? I understand restaurants have to be pretty expensive these days but at least deliver on the most important thing, flavor and quality, not just looks to make it worth it. If not then lower your prices. Nonetheless I won’t be coming back because getting two salmon avo toasts, a bagel “spread” with a lot of lettuce, a grilled cheese with a tiny cup of soup, an OJ, and an iced mocha for $108 while everything tasted just okay and to not even be full after your toast is absolutely outrageous.

The presentation of food is beautiful, but the taste of our cappuccino and americano ☕️ was just average. Also we waited for the order for quit a long time.

A lovely cafe with beautiful ambiance and great food. We got their tomato plus cheese toast, rose plus strawberry waffle, rose latte and Vanilla latte. All tasted incredible. Really liked their rose jam. Will definitely be re-visiting this place! They could work on their portion sizes.

The toast and waffle samplers are a must get. The flavors are all unique and delicious. I never would have imagined smoked salmon with ricotta on a waffle would be good, but it was fantastic. The quality of the sourdough with the toast was also top notch.

The drinks were also excellent, and the tapioca pearls perfectly cooked.

If you have to wait in a long line, don’t fret – it’s worth it.

This place was an answer to my prayers! I was in need of a restroom and they were the closest in proximity. Their bathroom was clean which is a super plus! I didn’t eat there….but I did buy some refreshing drinks to go! This review is to show my gratitude for just being there when I needed them most!

We’ve been to this breakfast joint several times as there a location near to where we lived. It’s always crowded and there’ll be a wait if we’re not there early enough, even with all the seating. Order at the counter and food gets delivered to the table. There’s a good reason why – the food is inventive and totally instagrammable. Also happens to taste delicious. We’ve had tried all the different types of toast (my fav is the curry chicken – if in doubt go for the sampler), the sandwiches and drinks. Love the presentation.

It was a cold and rainy day, and this place had been on my list of restaurants to visit, so I was excited to give it a try. There is a counter in the middle of the restaurant where you place your order. The counter is right in front of you when you enter, so you can’t miss it. After you order your food, you can find an open table and take a seat there. It was a bit busy when I visited, but I found a place to sit right away since I was by myself. If you are in a group of 3 or more people, then seating can be a bit tricky. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and modern decor.

I ordered a smoked salmon toast and hot chocolate (with whole milk). Hot chocolate was visually appealing, but that’s about it. It felt very watered down. Salmon toast was decent. Menu mentioned that the toast comes with capers (which I love), so I was looking forward to it, but it had maybe 10 capers on it. You can either get cream cheese or avocado on your toast at no additional cost.

Personally, the restaurant was more appealing in terms of look and feel rather than food.

Walk up to the counter, put in your order, grab an available table (maybe outside) and they will bring your order to you. The waffles are especially good. The toasts are also decent. We tried a couple of teas. The caramelized pear was better than coconut creme. The scones are very good. It was a little bit crowded inside and the noise level is high. It might be improved by some fabric against the walls.
