The name of this jewel in Jackson is JT’s. I absolutely love this place! I stumbled across JT’s when I searched for local honey while visiting Jackson. My GPS took me to a BBQ restaurant. The owner was sweet enough to refer and give me directions to JT’s! Not only did they have amazing honey, beautiful metal yard ornaments, vibrant fall decorations, but they also had raw green peanuts!

Stopped at the burger joint; after a VA appointment at the hospital, for a good burger, fries, coca-cola, and a chocolate shake.. was not disappointed.. Great food, great people and service, and I knew it was a great environment and atmosphere, as The Hollies were playing over the speakers at the covered seating area.. just perfect, and I’ll gladly return for the great service, food, and music.. thanks again, you guys made my day..

I ordered the club sandwich with sweet potato fries on my latest visit. The food was great. This is a drive in restaurant so the atmosphere is nice. The service was prompt and with a smile.

UPDATE: Lately the onion rings are the basic minced-and-formed rings like everybody else serves. I rate them a good solid mediocre, just like the fries. I don’t know what happened to change this. It’s not enough for me to take back a star, but I really don’t go there as often now. Now their biggest draw for me, besides the steak sandwich, is the soft ice cream.
~~~~~original review ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been going to this location all my life, off and on. First, in my memory, it was a drive in serving A&W rootbeer in big frosty mugs on clip-on trays. I was a little kid sitting in the back seat at the time, but that wonderful impression stuck. For a few decades after that, i remember it as Billy’s Burger Hut, and I kept going there whenever I was in Jackson. When Billy sold it, I was living out of state. I moved back, only to find it was Minnie Mae’s and decided tried it again, as it was more convenient to my “new” house than any other. I ordered the chicken-fried steak sandwich, like I did when Billy had it, and it was still good, especially if you add cheese. They still serve some wonderful, reasonably priced, soft ice cream and milkshakes, too. Their fries are still iffy, just like Billy’s were, but their onion rings are an excellent substitute. Real deep fried onion rings, not the minced-and-formed rings like you find in so many fast food places. They have a full menu, but I don’t eat take-out often, so I am just reviewing what I know. Their fried chicken is apparently popular. That fifth star is hard to get from me for any fast food place, so this is about as good as it could get. I might consider that fifth star if i could get some good, crisp fries every time. I think it depends on who’s cooking… But I don’t try the fries often. I really like the onion rings.
Decided to give it another try. I was hoping my last experience was a one of a kind. Food was ok, but lettuce was not fresh at all ,had to take off the sandwich. Other than that, it was eatable. Come on guys if you are going to compete with the chains your food has to be on point.
Ooooooooh how I wish I had a picture from everything I have eaten here! Super friendly! Always fresh! Always delicious! Sawyer loves their fried fish plates! Mama and daddy are super fans of their Ruben and their Club Sandwhich, although they do have one of the best and sloppy (because we all know it’s not good til you have to lick your fingers ) Hamburgers! You will not be disappointed with anything you get from B and Chris❤
Just a heads up: it is now called
B’s Burger House❤
Very good food. My husband had a BBQ sandwich with a vanilla shake and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. We usually go to Ed’s when we travel thru Jackson, but decided to give this place a try. We will be back, but take turns with Ed’s!
I overall enjoyed my experience here. They have good food and reasonable portions. It’s a great place to stop and get a feel for downtown Jackson, AL. I was also amused with the old time drive in theme and the old music playing.
Wonderful little burger joint close to downtown Jackson. They also have a good fish and shrimp plate. Just a good place for a quick lunch or dinner to take home to family.
