No host at the front. We had to wait for someone to finally notice us. The restaurant was not busy at all and our waitress did not come over to take our drinks for at least five minutes. She then proceeded to mess up for a drink order.
Our food arrived within 20 minutes, but it was very dry and we never got any refills on our drinks.
We watched the staff watch videos on their phone and mess around the whole time we were there.

The recent change in ownership has not been for the better. Formerly Minerva’s, it was abruptly rebranded “Dakota Kitchen & Lounge” in July 2025 and the food is now as bland as the name.
“Meh” is an understatement. Despite restaurant prices, the taste and quality of the chicken alfredo is below that of a Walmart frozen meal. The tomato soup looks and tastes like Prego pasta sauce. The firecracker shrimp have no fire or crack, and the accompanying rice is dry and tasteless.
The staff are doing their best, but they have clearly been put in a difficult position by the sudden and poorly planned transition. According to news reports they were given 24 hours notice to create a revised menu, and the inexperienced head chef was responsible for naming the restaurant.
The Best Western Ramkota Hotel and Convention Center, which houses the restaurant, used to be a premier event venue in Aberdeen. Not anymore. With food quality this low, I can’t imagine anyone hosting a lunch or dinner event here unless they had no other option. Sadly the once-great Ramkota appears to be yet another victim of mediocrity and lack of imagination. Unless something drastic changes, I expect them to be out of business soon. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

Had a wonderful quiet dinner with my 11 year-old daughter. I highly recommend the Blue Buffalo. The Grilled Angel Food is heavenly. Will definitely be back.

We decided to go for some burgers and discovered y’all have burger night tonight!!! When we arrived we were greeted and seated promptly. Our server Jenice,I think her name is?… Is amazing!!! We started out with turtle cheesecake.. oh boy was that the perfect appetizer!!! We also got several different burgers as we all had different tastes.. there was even a burger we got to vote on!!! It was definitely delicious!! The chef perfectly cooked our burgers and holy cow beautiful potatoes, cheese curds sweet potato fries with plenty of sauces on the side!! She made certain our drinks were refilled with perfect timing and was most excellent at keeping everything running smoothly including conversation!! This place will definitely be on my favorite places to eat list in Aberdeen from meow on!! It’s refreshing to have fantastic service and food!! Not to mention how attentive she is!! Thank you so much!! You are appreciated!!

It’s probably just a bad moment for the staff today. Came in after a long drive with my kids, and the bartender let out a very big sigh and then turned away from us. The host told us he’d be right with us and he ran around helping another table, trying to get a server to assist that table, he then picked to clear off one specific table for us and had to clean it. We got seated by a verbal command, ” That table over there is now ready for you.” A waitress saw my daughter with her 3 month old on the table and finally offered us a high chair. However, the high chair didn’t even reach the height of the table, so my granddaughter would essentially be sitting under the table. I asked if there was anything else as this chair didn’t reach this specific table, and the gal just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. So we left

They’re very friendly and accommodating, you can’t ask much more from a hotel bar! They actually have a pretty solid liquor selection as well.

Freezing inside the restaurant and said they’re unable to control the heat. Not enough servers so we were rather ignored for lunch. 2 of us had the Flatbread pizza. One BBQ and 2 Chicken Bacon ranch… Both delicious!

As a restaurant owner I was very disappointed with food at this restaurant. We ordered Reuben sandwich and chicken sandwich. Reuben was good , fries were fresh but my husband’s chicken was raw. When he mentioned it to our waiter there was no apology. As I finished my Reuben , my husband’s dinner arrived. Again no apology from the waiter. In our restaurant if the quest complaints about his food we do not charge for their meal .We will not charge for customers meal or at least offer free desert. For this reason we will not eat at this restaurant again.

I think overall, the experience was pretty good! I enjoyed the food (wasn’t the best on planet earth), the service was OUTSTANDING (my server was Mohammed who did very, very well), and the atmosphere was pretty relaxing and festive.
The only things I’d comment on are how the food was warm, but not hot when we got it. Also, the menu selection is pretty limited compared to what I’ve heard it used to be. I was fine with this though, as I think they had some pretty good options. I would also say that the food was good, but I wouldn’t say that it was amazing. Especially for a place that is finer dining, I was hoping for a more flavor-rich, special meal. I would say the price was a bit much for the quality of the food, in my opinion.
I must say though, our server Mohammad was truly outstanding. He remembered all of our orders (all 9 of us with special requests) and his timing of everything was perfect, checking in occasionally but not too much. He was very kind and interacted with us, but not in any way that would be annoying or uncomfortable. He did great also to keep our drinks filled and our dishes taken care of. He truly made the night worth it.
Would I return here? Likely, but probably for special occasions for business or if others would like to come here, but I am not sure I would pick here first for my options to eat out.
