Miner’s Burger in Yakima is a true local classic that lives up to its reputation. The burgers are huge, juicy, and packed with flavor, clearly made with quality ingredients and no shortcuts. Every bite feels satisfying, especially if you enjoy old-school drive-in style burgers done right. The fries are crisp and plentiful, and the milkshakes are thick, creamy, and perfect for rounding out the meal.

Despite how busy it can get, the service is efficient and well-organized, moving the line faster than expected. The atmosphere has a nostalgic charm that adds to the experience and makes it feel like a staple of the community rather than just another burger spot.

If you’re in Yakima and craving a hearty, no-frills burger with generous portions, Miner’s is absolutely worth the stop and easy to recommend.

Got a Big Miner burger and an order of fries came to a little bit over $16. The portion sizes are definitely huge. The burger was decent could have used some seasoning on the meat. The fries were good but way too many for an individual in my opinion. You order your food at the counter go sit at a table with a number and they bring it to you so no real table service. Guess that’s why they call it a drive-in diner even though it’s a sit-down restaurant. Was my first time in not sure if I’ll be back wasn’t that memorable. In my photo that is a normal sized lunch tray the burger is probably 6 in across. Not saying you don’t get enough food for your money so if that’s what you’re looking for this might be your kind of place.

I’m giving it a 1 star because of the price. They charged me $5.00 for a large coke and $5.55 for a SMALL fry. What is this, Disney World? This is a fast food place. My meal came out to $29.01. I could have went to Texas Roadhouse and got a 12 oz steak for that price with two FRESH sides. So, if you’re with 3 people and you each get a sub, or pretty much anything on the menu it’s all about the same price, a large coke that isn’t that large, and a SMALL fry, you’re looking at over $90 dollars. That’s insane for a fast food place. I suggest you get food elsewhere. If you’re on a budget DO not go here. I could have gotten a sub from Jimmy John’s or Jersey Mikes with arguably better quality for half the price. I have no idea what they’re thinking with this pricing. Is it because they’re called “Miners” and have been around for awhile and when you visit Yakima you visit Miner’s?? I don’t know what they’re on when they made their pricing. but $29.01 for a sub, a fry and a coke is ridiculous. It’s especially ridiculous when Texas Roadhouse is 2 blocks away and I could have gotten a 12 oz steak with two sides for what I paid here. Don’t go here. It’s not worth the money, there are better options. I’ve never seen a drive through with such ridiculous pricing in my life. $5 for a soda..I could have went up the road to circle K and got a 44 oz soda for 99 cents.

Good food. Unfortunately, the overall experience took away from the enjoyment.

We were in Yakima for a musical event and asked local friends for dining recommendations. This restaurant was consistently highly recommended, so we were excited to try it.

When we arrived, it was clearly a popular place — busy, energetic, and with multiple ordering counters. There was no line at the time. As soon as we walked in, someone called out, “I can help the next customer here.” Since it was our first visit, we were a bit overwhelmed by the size of the space and the extensive menu options. We needed a moment to decide for our family.

Once we approached the counter ready to order, the employee assisting us seemed irritated when I asked about the ingredients in one of the menu items. She quickly listed several ingredients in a rushed manner, clearly uninterested in slowing down or helping us understand the options. My wife noticed the tone and asked a few additional questions to clarify, but the employee’s attitude did not improve. She appeared bothered and unwilling to assist.

When we asked her to repeat our order to ensure accuracy, she rapidly read back multiple items with visible annoyance. At that point, my wife requested an itemized receipt, and we were told — again with noticeable frustration — that they do not provide itemized receipts.

When our food was ready, we briefly mentioned the poor customer service to the staff at the pickup counter. They seemed apologetic and visibly uncomfortable, and we didn’t feel it was fair to put them in that position, so we asked to speak with the shift manager instead.

The manager came promptly, listened carefully, and apologized. He said he would address the situation with the employee and asked if there was anything else he could do. While he was polite and professional, no effort was made to offer any gesture of goodwill. Considering we spent over $120 on burgers, we expected a higher level of customer service to match the price point.

The food itself was good — no complaints there. However, the service experience was disappointing enough that we will not be returning.

I share this feedback in hopes that it helps improve the customer experience, because the food truly has potential to stand on its own.

The smells were amazing! Burgers should come with a warning label. Be hungry! These homemade patties are huge! Perfectly seasoned and even taste good the next day!

The restaurant was bigger than expected. Great atmosphere! Portions are big. We got the big miner burger, the SW taco ranch burger, curly fries, and a choc and PB shake. Food was top notch! We’ll be back.

Showed up late to our hotel and found these guys on Google right by us. Stopped in around 1030 and ordered 3 miner burgers, large fries, and large onion rings. They were busy, but they were turning out orders quickly. We sat and waited about 20 minutes for our food to come out. They building is large, and the outside area is nice.

The burgers we got were ridiculous. The whole tomato thing is overkill lol. But these were great basic burgers. All the ingredients play well as they should in a classic butger. What a whopper wishes it could be. They were massive. The fries were OK, and the onion rings were very good. Fry sauce and ranch were goodish. The BBQ ranch was not for us. The prices were all over the place. 9.99 for a plate size burger, but 4 plus for a soda and over 5 for a side of gravy is just weird to me. But whatever, not what I went for. I enjoyed our visit to Miners, and would go again for sure.

This place hasn’t changed in 25 years. And that’s a good thing. Always amazing burgers and a diner atmosphere that takes you back in time. The milkshakes are amazing, it’s not a regular menu item but they make an amazing chocolate peanut butter shake. The park benches outside are great in the summer.
