We stopped for dinner on the Saturday before Christmas after an afternoon concert. My husband and I both love everything about this restaurant. The service is top notch and the food is always delish! The greens and beans are always good and oh, let me tell you about the Italian stuffed banana peppers…oh la la!! If you like a little heat in your mouth, well this is the dish for you! I love their Sicilian pizza. I’m the type of person that has their favorite meal at each restaurant that we frequent and their Sicilian pizza is a 10/10 for me. My husband had the veal special of the night that the waiter suggested. He LOVED IT!!! See you again very soon Mineo’s ❤️

Shared a large house salad with 3 people and it was more than plenty. Creamy parmesan peppercorn dressing

Great atmosphere. I got hooked on Mineos during my college years in Squirrel Hill, and am glad to have other locations to enjoy my favorite ‘burgh pizza. So good, in fact, I don’t even get toppings. Their white pizza is the best I’ve ever had, period. Try it and a traditional pie, you won’t be disappointed.

Top notch pizza with a ton of toppings in every bite! Provolone wedges and fried portabello mushrooms were phenomenal. Salad was fantastic and dressing very good. The service was exceptional! Definitely will be back.

We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. The dining room was busy so we noticed there were 4 seats at the bar so we decided to sit there. We had a great night! Shawn was the bartender. What a character we laughed all night. The service was great.
We couldn’t decide what we wanted so we settled on sharing a few things. We had the Antipasto salad, the meatballs and the stuffed peppers then we were curious and each got a slice of pizza( I love that you can just get a slice) everything was really good. I am picky especially when it come to meatballs and they were delicious! The stuffed peppers were great, spicy but not too spicy. The antipasto was really good too. Oh! We had garlic bread too. The garlic bread was good but it was a little too light for me I like mine toasted a little longer. The pizza was so dang good!!!
I wish we lived a little closer so we could go to Mineo’s more often. Can’t wait to go back.

This is our second time coming here. Our son had a baseball game in the area on Friday 6/27. The front was absolutely packed and no hostess was there so I thought we would have a wait. After about 10 mins the hostess showed up. She was incredibly rude, I asked for her name; I think she said Kim or Cam but we felt as though it was a nuisance for her to seat us. We were seated in the solarium this time and it was so nice. What a pleasant surprise and they had a lot of seating options. Our server took our order right away and was so fun made us forget about the horrible service up front. We got a small house salad which is big enough for two people to share. Their ranch dressing is the best. All of their dressings are made in house and we actually bought extra dressing to take home with us. The pizza is just unlike any other. THE BEST OF THE BEST! We got two pies and had no room on our table. They need the pizza holders there. One of the owners carried one of our pies to our table, I think his name was Gio. You can tell the staff has a good rapport with the owners, which as a business owner that’s very important. We decided to try the arancini and they were so good and could have been a meal on their own. Our second time was much better than the first. This will be our stop for travel baseball season.

I’m all for giving praise where it’s due, but let’s not mince words here: my recent visit here was a letdown. The PIZZA IS Awful and not consistent!

As a repeat customer, I expected the pizza that we had the last time we were there, but that was not going to happen!

Instead, I was served a heavy, greasy mess that was more cheese than pizza. The cheese was so thick, it made it impossible to pick up and it was in clumps, as well as puddling in grease, not to mention the crust that in the middle was way undercooked. And the cheese was not stringy it was GOBS.

Yes, we told the server. The server, while efficient, missed the mark when we pointed out the issue. Her response? “It’s always this cheesy.” We even asked if she misunderstood us and ordered doubled cheese, the answer was ‘No’!

Nope, not buying it. We’ve eaten here before, and it’s never been a cheese overload like this. The Cheese was coming off in clumps almost like it was gnocchi and definitely not digestible.

To make matters worse, the pizza was undercooked and doughy, from the center to 1/2 way on the pizza, which is a far cry from their usual standard.

******The real kicker? Watching the next table receive the perfect pizza we used to love. It was like night and day – their pizza was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of cheese. They were able to serve it without the mess of cheese glopping everywhere and without the grease. What we got? A cheesy disaster, unrecognizable from what we ordered.

We were not after free, just a pizza like we ordered. Offering dessert doesn’t cut it when the main pizza is a flop. How do you make that right?

*** From the minute we mentioned it without trying to get the server frazzled (again not looking for free just EDIBLE Pizza) she could have just taken it back and replaced the last other cuts with a small pizza to go. The server knew our pizza was wrong, plain and simple. She was not sure how to handle it, and she should have had a manager help her through this mess. It’s not about a freebie; it’s about getting what you paid for from the start, not leaving half a pizza (And gobs of the cheese that was on it behind on plates) because it was awful and it was, we never eat just half we’ve go for the pizza to eat the pizza, but NOT today!!!

This issue of inconsistency isn’t just disappointing; it’s a serious letdown for a place that’s supposed to be a staple in the Pittsburgh pizza scene. It seems we’re not alone in noticing this – similar complaints are evident (in reviews), which raises a red flag about your commitment to consistent quality and management. Completely unacceptable and unfair to your staff who no doubt will suffer from other patrons that want GOOD Pizza, that doesn’t go squish or wilt over from so much cheese! Won’t be back for ALL the reasons shared!

Sat at the bar, Sean was amazing! He was so friendly, and patient while I was ordering. This is the best pizza I have had in Pittsburgh. I made sure to request “well done”, and the crust came out like a cracker. It made me feel like I was eating a New York pizza. I also got a cannelloni and tiramisu. Both were amazing. Definitely worth going again.

Mineo’s Pizza is a family favorite for us, and we keep coming back again and again. The pizza is always excellent, but the real standout is their meatballs and sauce—absolutely incredible and full of flavor, just like homemade. Consistently great food, friendly service, and that classic Pittsburgh comfort you crave. Mineo’s never disappoints.

No better than any other pizza place. Can see why many places are closing the cost of eating out. Tried it cause I heard it was great to me it was just like all the others.
