We pride ourselves in providing good food, made fresh daily in a clean atmosphere. We serve it up cafeteria style, so you can get exactly what you want. We cook with quality ingredients, but we keep it simple, just like home. Enjoy your meal in our one-of-a-kind renovated church from 1928. Sit at our handmade tables and admire all our custom metalwork, masonry, carpentry, and decor. We did it ourselves, from the milled wood used through-out to the river rocks on the fireplace. We’ve been to several restaurants in our life from fast food to high end fine dining – but Mim’s kitchen was one of the best restaurants we’ve ever experienced. The hospitality combined with this great food is just perfect. This place is a hidden gem nestled deep in the woods. We loved it and we will be back!

Absolutely 100% incredible meal. Our food was so fresh you can really taste it. From the salad to the main course to the dessert I was in foodie heaven. The dining area was gorgeous as well, so much love was put into every aspect of this dining experience. The owner/chef even took the time to chat with us when it came time to clear our table. I only wish I had room to try each type of cheesecake after eating my “to die for” strawberry shortcake.

Planned and took a trip up to Snowshoe Ski Resort to enjoy the fall scenery. Checked out restaurants at Snowshoe and the surrounding are and found this hidden gem. We stopped at Mim’s Kitchen on the way back and man was it well worth it. An outstanding family owned and run restaurant with some of the best down home cooking ever. It’s a bit pricey (about $25-30 a plate, desserts are extra) but the excellent food, friendly staff, and country atmosphere makes it well worth it. This is a buffet style restaurant so get there before they open as I’m sure they may run out of some items as the line extends well out the door. At the time of this review, dinner was only served on Friday and Saturday from 4-7pm. They close for the winter from Dec thru Feb.

My very first visit this past Friday and I loved everything about it! Literally the best home cooked meal!!! It’s a buffet style and you pick which main entree you want along with 3 sides. The desserts were absolutely delicious! All the dressings were homemade. You have to experience Mim’s for yourself!!! I will definitely be returning when I’m back in the area visiting. (Coke products are served.)

The food was tasty, and we expected a unique experience. Because of other reviews about the timing, we arrived for dinner (!) at 4:30 pm, and we finally got through the long wait in the line of about 20 people in front of us, and were seated at 5:30. I have never had such slow service in a cafeteria-style restaurant. By the time we finished dinner, the restaurant was “sold out.” Our dinner was good, but honestly, not worth the wait.

My husband and I are out of towners and just so happened to stumble upon this local gem of a spot! We stopped here for lunch before heading out to fly fish. The food was wonderful, the place was cute, chic cabin, and the service was super friendly! People were wearing masks and distancing while standing in line which was great. I had the roast beef and my husband had the country ham. As a southern, I know me some roast beef since I grew up with having it every Sunday. Believe me when I say that Mim’s roast beef tasted just like my dad’s. And the country ham was just as good! Highly recommend this spot.

Super cute little place. Mim herself greeted me when I walked in, and she and her family were very hospitable. The food was fantastic – just some good homemade comfort food. I’ll make it a point to visit again if I come back through this area.
