Update: the difference 3 years makes. The food is not good anymore. My husband altered his order to not include ricotta which the waiter offered without my husband saying anything, and that was no problem that they couldn’t substitute another cheese when we were told by (manager?) that it couldnt be substituted so he said not to worry about it. However, both of our dishes came out so watery that they were so gross. The manager wouldn’t budge on our $70 bill even though we barely touched the food. She was also so nosey the entire time we were here. Every time our waiter came to the table she was over here a few seconds after he left saying EXACTLY what he had already said. The waiter however was amazing and professional. We will not be coming back. Ever.
This was my first visit here, and I’m in love! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. I highly recommend this place, and do try the gnocchi with ricotta and spinach, it is divine!

Visited the restaurant on 9/26 around 6:30. There were three people, we were sat at a table, once one was clean which took 10-15 minutes, and other another 15 minutes before anyone even noticed us. Then they brought us one set of silverware and waited another 10 minutes for them to bring two forks and as they were out of knives we had to share one knife between the three of us for our meal. Ordered antipasto, which was skimpy on toppings, and ordered three meals, which two arrived about 30 minutes after ordering, however the other meal arrived about 10 minutes later as they couldn’t find it. The breading on the shrimp, weekend special, was not cooked the breading near the shrimp was still raw. I told them it was not cooked correctly, but they didn’t seem to care. As the meal wasn’t cooked and I had to remove all of the breading I asked for a small side of red sauce; however, I later found out it they charged $2.50 for it and after questioning it was told yes thats correct. After the meal and all of the issues we spoke with the owner and explained how the meals were; however, she didn’t seem to care or offer to make it right. This was a VERY poor experience and the lack of concern from the owner was was unacceptable and let her know we would not be returning. I have been told this is not normal; however, the careless attitude of the owner and poor food quality makes me think otherwise.

We found Mimmo’s shortly after moving to Goldsboro, the food was good, for southern Italian, but whenever my husband would go to pick up an order he would wait to leave when they said it would be ready, and he would still end up waiting 30-60 minutes for the food to be done.
He waited almost two hours there on Valentine’s Day for a pizza and an order of gnocchi.. We called the order in, arrived at the time they said it would be ready and he sat there for 2 hours!! He said the cooks in the kitchen kept looking out the window of the door to see if he was still sitting waiting for it, almost like they were purposely messing with him. It ruined the night.
The women at the front were less than helpful, if he knew it was going to be that kind of wait we would have canceled our order. But whatever! We found Brooklyn pizza and honestly the food is better and the employees aren’t rude! Mimmo’s was a huge disappointment, I just can’t recommend them or even eat there again.

Fantastic pizza! My husband and I order it at least once a week and it never disappoints. Tonight, I decided to try something different and ordered the cheese tortellini with sausage. I wasn’t given the price over the phone, and when I went to pick it up, I was surprised to find it cost over $25. Personally, that feels pretty steep for pasta with sausage. While I won’t be ordering the pasta again, we’ll definitely keep coming back for the pizza—it’s always worth it!

Haven’t been to Mimmo’s in a while and decided to grab dinner for date night last week. Our meals were great as usual however our server lacked actually serving skills. She addressed my husband each time when she eventually came to our table but never actually addressed me with eye contact and in the manner she did my husband which was strange. The 3 times in total she came to our table which counted when she took our order she only stood on my husbands side of the table and my husband said he could smell alcohol on her that was trying to be covered up with an overwhelming amount of perfume. Hopefully she was just new and needs some more training however I will politely ask not to have her as our server next time we go in and if she is working.

Mimmo’s was incredible! All the food was on point, fresh ingredients and with traditional recipes. My veal capres was off the charts amazing. The breaded crust had an excellent italiano blend of spices. The sauce was perfecto with enough flavors, and the mozzarella on top finished it off. Damn.
The calazone was stuffed full of the best steak, grilled onions and peppers with an incredible sauce. You think alfredo is alfredo?…not here. The best sauce that seemed to have just a little bit of pepper.

Cozy atmosphere with authentic Italian food. Nice staff and Mimmo is on staff. Location is not what expected. But this is a must try! Desserts just as good as meal!
