At Millpond Gatherings, we are an all encompassing hospitality center where you can eat, celebrate, shop, and stay with us here in the quaint town of Northford, Connecticut. The Millpond Steakhouse, run by Executive Chef Pedro Avila, is a farm-to-table modern American steakhouse with a fine dining flare. Our dry-aged grass fed beef is sourced from our own cattle farm just 2 miles up the road, and accompanied with local produce from our surrounding farmers. In the Tavern we encompass the spirit of historic New England with a cozy laid back atmosphere and weekly live music. Millpond Events is our venue hall located adjacent to the restaurant. This rustic charming space will harvest many special memories and celebrations

We dined at the Millpond Steakhouse, which has a very different menu from the tavern, and had a fabulous experience from the waitstaff that was amazing and welcoming, to the food that was delicious and cooked to perfection. The waiters/waitresses were all attentive and polite. Alicia C. was our server and was awesome! Thank you.

We had a terrible experience at Millpond Gathering. We drove an hour to eat here after hearing such great reviews. The service was awful. Our server was rude and inattentive. The food was worse. Our appetizers were eh, the bacon was like a rock and the short rib dumplings were not cooked through. The steaks were absolutely raw and our server tried to argue they were not. The steaks were also not a good cut. We ate two pieces of our $150 steak. The manager took off our appetizers…. But we still paid $600 for a terrible meal. Extremely disappointed.

Millpond is beautiful, absolutely stunning. I don’t always take the time to leave reviews, but this place blew me away. Austin was amazing, very sweet and attentive. He made us feel very welcome. My husband told Austin I had allergies to garlic and onions and Austin and the chef went above and beyond to accommodate me and my allergies which a lot of restaurants will not do. The food was absolutely incredible!! So many amazing options and delicious! I can go on all day about how nice the venue the food and the staff were , you just have to go and experience it yourself! We definitely will be coming back to try more things. Thank you Millpond !

My fiancé and I visited Millpond for our anniversary because we had heard such great things! We were seated in a cozy spot in the steakhouse next to the fireplace, and it was probably one of the most romantic settings we’ve had out of our anniversary dinners. I’m usually pretty picky about popovers, but these were by far the best I’ve had! Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and the creamed spinach was a delicious side. The appetizer of the hanging bacon was fantastic, but we unfortunately didn’t really enjoy the short rib dumplings – I think the bbq sauce made it an odd combo for us. Dessert of the Belgian waffle sliders was a great end to the meal! Service was very attentive, and the meal moved fairly quickly. I would love to come back in the summer and sit outside!

Both my fiancé and I celebrated my birthday here at Millpond gatherings today, and immediately upon entry we were both greeted and treated really fantastic by the hostess up front. We also received top notch service from our fantastic server named Ryan. Ryan really blew both me and my fiancé expectations out of the water. He was always on point with everything and had such a really great personality. I must say I will always request Ryan going forward. This place doesn’t just have great views but also has amazing food! Its a fantastic location please do give this place a try if you haven’t done so yet. The portions are great as well at the Belgian waffle desert that Ryan suggested I tell you he had great taste and really cares that you get great service!

My sister, myself and our husbands went to the tavern to celebrate our birthday dinners on Saturday night. We had reservations for 630 and were seated promptly. It was cozy with a fireplace in the center of the room. Downhill from there. We waited approximately 20 minutes for a waitress to come over to take our drink orders. Took another 30 minutes to come over and take our appetizer and dinner orders. Luckily there were four of us so we were chatting away. To put it in perspective we were seated at 6:30 p.m. and did not get our meal until 8:30 p.m.! Apparently they do not serve bread with dinners but we did see another couple get popovers so we asked about them . She finally brought us some popovers after we asked a second time. I did not get an appetizer so was starving! Anyway, I ordered Penne alla Vodka with grilled chicken. Apparently the chef does not know what a vodka sauce is. What I received was penne with marinara sauce. …something I could have made at home. (See picture) I was extremely disappointed because I love vodka sauce. If I hadn’t already waited so long for the meal I would have sent it back. Saving Grace…the desserts were all delicious. We did not leave there till 10:00 p.m. we understand that places are short-staffed and definitely were prepared to wait but never thought it would be so bad. They need to bring out something to snack on ( they seem to only have popovers for which they charge a fee!) We had our cocktails and were on our bottle of wine with nothing else offered during the long wait for our meals.

So happy we found this place. All employees are super Friendly. The building is beautiful, the food was delicious . We tried fine dining, will try the tavern next visit. Highly recommend the salmon.

Came here for the pre fix “date night” menu. The ambiance feels like you’re in a cozy cabin in Vermont. The place was beautiful. Our server was wonderful and everything we had was delicious. We will absolutely be back to try the tavern downstairs.
