Considering this is an airport restaurant the food is excellent and prepared in an open kitchen which is novel.
Although ordering is all online which a tad “different” for myself as an older LUDDITE who would like more human contact in restaurants MCT certainly does produce a delicious and not assembly-made-looking breakfast. A tad expensive but this is
the airport and NOT one of the cheaper, plastic food franchises.
Lucky MSP travelers!!!!!

Like any airport in the US, the prices for food and drinks here can be quite steep, which can be a bit of a shock for travelers. Despite that, we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at this particular spot, and I’m glad we did. The breakfast menu had a delightful variety, catering to everything from classic eggs and bacon to more adventurous options like avocado toast and gourmet breakfast burritos.

The service was impressively efficient. Our food arrived promptly, which is always a plus when you’re juggling the stresses of travel. Our bartender, in particular, stood out for their genuine friendliness and attentiveness. They not only took our orders with a warm smile but also made sure to check on us regularly, ensuring that our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. It felt good to be treated as more than just another customer; the personalized attention made our experience feel special even amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport.

We’ve been to this location several times now, and we consistently have great experiences. It’s reassuring to know that we can rely on their excellent service and quality every time we stop by. The ambiance is another highlight; it’s remarkably laid back for an airport setting. The soft lighting and comfortable seating create a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to relax, unwind, and indulge in good conversations. We’ve found ourselves chatting with fellow travelers, sharing stories, and exchanging travel tips, which added an unexpected layer of enjoyment to our meal.

While at the airport awaiting our flight we had a meal here. The staff was kind and courteous. There was one issue that was accommodated and corrected immediately by the manager Sierra. The food and the service was great! I would recommend Mill City Tavern and would return if ever in the area again.

Moving reviews over from Yelp. Even though I traveled through MSP for work for a few years I never gave them a second chance. Originally published 10/21/2016:

Fifteen bucks for a burger with a side salad? You know it had to be one hell of a good burger at that price point…or in an airport. Sadly, it wasn’t that good of a burger.

You order on an iPad at the table. It does not give you the option to request anything other than exactly what you see on the screen. To do that you have to flag down a food runner (they aren’t really servers if they don’t take orders, answer questions or process your payment) and ask for something. In my case, it was grilled onions for my burger. Did it show up with grilled onions after I asked? No – of course not. The person I asked clearly had no personal investment in my dining experience as one would if they were the one getting the tip.

Tips – that’s another sore spot in my experience here. You order on the iPad and scan your card. You now have an open tab that pre-populates with a tip. The software tells you that you can close the tab at any time but then automatically closes it at some point with the pre-populated tip in place regardless of any adjustments you may have made.

Ridiculous prices and lousy service don’t combine well with mediocre food. Not a place I will dine again on future trips through MSP airport.

Restaurant right at my gate, that was a plus. I sat down & my server explained it’s cash and he’ll take your order or if you’d like to use a card you have to order within a QR code. Awesome so far, he walked me right through it. Ordered a drink while I looked over the menu, then I ordered my food relatively easy. Food came out pretty quick, also was delicious! Shout out to Dan, he’s a damn good server!

I had the steak and eggs breakfast, which is a crap shoot at an airport especially at the restaurant at the end of the G concourse.

But that steak was epic. Cooked exactly as ordered. It was really good food.

Can’t wait till I have connecting time in that Concourse again.

Surprisingly great food! Seating is crowded and kind of awkward. Seats are bolted in place and don’t swivel even at the high top we used(with another two groups of people because you have to). Ordering food is a bit of a pain. You scan a QR code and then order online. Code is specific to each seat so they know where to bring it. It’s fine and it works… But it’s awkward and I don’t know how disabled people or older people with limited phone experience would like it or be able to use it.
They don’t come out and offer water or explain how to order, you just figure it out from the QR code with a little note. Once we order I would really appreciate water be brought out. They have a pretty big bar with lots of options. Food was truly delicious which we were not expecting at the airport. They were pretty quick too. So overall good, but not for everyone.
You can order to go as well if you want. Kids meal chicken strips was delicious!

My wife wanted a cocktail to help her relax prior to the flight. She ordered a drink and couldn’t taste and was surprised she couldn’t taste any alcohol so she ordered another drink (Double) and still couldn’t taste the alcohol. When we were finished we walked to the gate and she replied that she didn’t feel relaxed at all. I paid $100 for one burger, and three drinks. Over priced and watered down alcohol.

Waitress never smiles, kept repeating how busy she was – very unwelcoming. On the other hand, Mason bartender = excellent service, great people skills, very professional. We would come back next time if he is bartending. Thanks!
