First visit. Drove with brother n law about an hour and was well worth the trip. To me the coffee is first and foremost the most important thing. Upon entering seeing a 9 choice POUR OVER menu and I knew it was going to be good. I got a Peruvian pourover and brother n law got a flavored latte. Both coffees were terrific. The beans are from the pricey Counter Culture Coffee co and were really good. The workers were really friendly and explained the machine style pourover as I watched my coffee being crafted. The place is huge and really nice. Its everything I look for in a specialty coffee shop. They have a nice real food menu and will definitely make my way back. A place like this is exactly why I travel an hour to look for a great coffee spot.

5 well-deserved stars ✅. Today I wanted to try a different coffee shop, so I searched on Maps for a “cozy coffee shop,” and this place came up with 4.8 stars—enough, I thought, to at least give it a try. The quality of the coffee, their menu, the service at the counter, the overall friendliness of the staff, including the owner, the immaculate cleanliness, and the decor all combine to make this coffee shop easily one of the best in the area. The place has a unique and very tasteful decor , with what I would call vintage touches mixed with a clean design where pastel colors and wood predominate—truly a feast for the eyes!. They have utilized the space incredibly well, as there are a significant number of tables without compromising ease of movement; it’s ideal for going alone, for business (free Wi-Fi ), with family, etc. I tried a crafted latte, Cinnamon Toast☕, and a chocolate croissant , both excellent. On a side note, I already mentioned that the place is beautifully decorated, to the point that you even want to take a picture of the bathroom , which has a very unique and striking design and decor. They have truly taken care to make every square foot of the place count! In short, I conclude that this place is a hidden gem and deserves to be visited by everyone. Recommended! ✨

Milk Crate Coffee is mamash one of Lakewood’s nicest coffee spots — the kind of place that feels like a real menuchas hanefesh in the middle of a hectic day. Whether you’re coming to get work done, meeting someone, or just need to sit down with a coffee and regain your sanity for a few minutes, this place is a total win.
First of all, the space and décor are beautiful. It’s modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of seating and a relaxed vibe that immediately puts you at ease. You can tell real thought went into it — not just “put out some tables and chairs,” but creating a place you actually want to be in. And yes… people are not exaggerating: even the bathroom is surprisingly nice. You walk in expecting regular, and suddenly you’re like, “Nu… okay, this is a whole experience.”
The coffee itself is consistently excellent. You can taste the quality, and everything feels done properly — not rushed, not sloppy. The menu is solid and well thought out, and the food options are great too. The avocado toast is a fan favorite for a reason — fresh, filling, and perfect when you want something lighter but still satisfying. It’s the classic “I’m being healthy today” order… until you remember there’s dessert and say, eh, tomorrow I’ll start again.
It’s also a fantastic place to get work done. Plenty of seating, calm enough to focus, and a vibe that makes it easy to stay a while without feeling pressure to leave. At the same time, it’s perfect for meeting a friend — not too loud, not too cramped, just comfortable enough to actually sit and schmooze like a mensch.
But what really takes Milk Crate Coffee to the next level is the people, especially the owner. He’s the kind of person who always has a kind word, remembers faces, and genuinely cares that you’re enjoying yourself. Ask him for a suggestion and he’s spot-on — and half the time, he’ll say, “Try this one,” and before you know it, it’s on the house. A coffee to try, a piece of cake, a dessert “just because.” And if he realizes it’s someone’s birthday? Suddenly something special appears at the table like it’s no big deal. Those small, thoughtful gestures make a huge difference.
It’s that heimish feeling — like you’re not just another customer, but someone he’s happy walked in. That warmth, combined with quality coffee and a beautiful space, is what keeps people coming back again and again.
Bottom line: Milk Crate Coffee is clean, stylish, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable — great coffee, great atmosphere, and even better people. It’s the kind of place where a “quick coffee” turns into a full sit-down because it’s just too nice to leave. Highly recommended — and honestly, once you go, it becomes one of those spots you automatically suggest to others.

Milk Crate is such a fantastic find. The setting alone is worth a visit—tucked into a beautifully repurposed old motel, it has a cool, relaxed, and totally unique vibe. The coffee was good, and the service was friendly, welcoming, and quick. The real highlight for me was a chocolate pistachio danish. I also love that it’s dog friendly; our pup felt right at home and had a great time too. Great atmosphere, great people, and great coffee—can’t ask for much more than that!

Been wanting to come here since I heard they opened up a location in jersey! I came on a Sunday morning, no other customers were there, so service was super fast. They only have mugs to stay for 12 oz lattes, and I ordered a flat white so the employee asked if I minded if the flat white was in a larger mug. I didn’t mind, except when I got it, it was filled to the top. So definitely not a flats white. We also ordered the ricotta toast and the avocado toast, or sandwich I guess. The avocado plate was a little too homemade looking. And the ricotta toast was super sweet and watery.

The store has a very calming ambiance and a large beautiful seating area. The tuna on sourdough was fresh and flavorful, and the hot Americano was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time. The blueberry cheese Danish looked insane and tasted even better. We will absolutely be back!

This place has been missing from this town for way too long. We are so excited to have a really sweet and delicious coffee shop right here in our midst. The servers are all so friendly and smiling. There is plenty of seating, and the breakfast options are magical. There is so much delicious food to try and taste at this place; you will definitely need to make more than one visit to this establishment.

Delicious food that feels great on the stomach—made with healthy, natural ingredients. Despite the quality, the prices are not overpriced. They bring the food to your table (except for drinks), and there’s no extra charge for waiter service.
The place has a fun, funky vibe with interesting props and decor—even the bathroom is worth checking out (see picture)! Highly recommend!
