Mikuni’s food is truly on another level. Every time I visit, each staff member greets you individually — you feel genuinely welcomed and valued. The service is consistently attentive, warm, and professional.
I’ve had sushi all over the U.S., but no matter where I go, I always miss Mikuni’s flavor. There’s something special about the way they prepare their food — balanced, refined, and unforgettable.
Outstanding quality, excellent service, and a place I’ll always come back to.

The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. It felt best and just fun to be in plus I liked sitting at the bar.
The service was very nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. But it’s not getting five stars because the service wasn’t particularly personable. The bartender seemed almost overwhelmed and so did his best and got a good tip from me, but it just didn’t feel as personable as it could’ve.
The food was just OK. The Joanna belly was quite delicious and fell apart in my mouth, but the rest of food was just so so. It was tasty but not amazing by any stretchy imagination. I would still come back here if I was in Davis. Also, it was kind of expensive. I got a drink and three dishes and it was $70. For just one person. It’s not totally unreasonable for sushi with a non-alcoholic drink, but not cheap.

We enjoyed our meal here. The garlic edamame was tasty and plentiful. Fortunately it arrived quickly, as our sushi order took awhile to arrive. The Tasmania roll was very nice, but the pimp my roll was the best. The server was very nice, even though she was very busy. When we arrived for dinner on a Thursday night we were told there would be a 35 minute wait, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The place was packed! My only real complaint is that it is an extremely loud place. Hard to hold a conversation.

Mikuni in Davis is a fantastic spot for sushi lovers. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are creative and delicious, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between lively and relaxed, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.
One of the best deals is their lunch bento box—great portions, a variety of items, and a perfect way to enjoy a bit of everything. Their kid’s menu also quite a steal. A local favorite for good reason!

Came here for a late lunch & it was happy hour as well. It was kinda of busy so our waiter was running all over. Food tasted great and the nigiri sushi is cheaper than most other sushi places around. Would recommend!

The first time I came to Mikuni was a great experience. Our server was kind but not overwhelming, he not only was able to explain the dishes but was able to add additional toppings that enhanced the flavor. Truly appreciated the care and attention.
The food is top notch and does not disappoint.

I am a sushi fiend. And have been to Japan several times. Let me tell you about Mikuni Davis. Is it Japan NO. With that being said if you are a true sushi eater then you will find extremely fresh fish every time. Well cut fish every time as well! My wife and I are here way too often. ( give me my status already so I can make reservations) Yao is the head chef and just an awesome guy, Ming and Miguel are also super talented sushi chefs. In general even the less experienced sushi chefs are great. If you’re someone who thinks sushi is a roll with a bunch of fried stuff….well there’s plenty for you too. It’s actually a great mix of everything. Highly recommend the freaky edamame cause it’s great. Overall this is my go to spot in the states. When you factor price, consistency, and freshness I don’t think you can beat it.

The food is super good! The service is pretty quick and the workers are very nice and professional and they always give you advice if you are unsure of what to order. Mikuni is great for kids because there is a kids menu that my kids love. There is also a large selection of items on the menu. I recommend trying Mikuni.

It’s our first time at Mikini. When we arrived there, the waitress said there was a 35 minute wait. The restaurant was full and busy on a Saturday evening. 15 minutes later, we were seated. We ordered alot of food and everything was delicious. All plates were clean except for chirashi bowl had too much rice but was delicious also. Overall, all 7 of us enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely come back.

Really fast service, I was impressed. The food…it was okay. We ordered the $70 menu for two (yes, everything on the picture) and I personally think it’s not worth it. I love sushi and had better ones at Japanese buffets for low cost, but if this is your thing then, go you, boo! The pasta could use more seasonings don’t take it the wrong way, it was not a bad experience. I just would’ve preferred the experience differently for a more affordable cost.
