I drive 200 miles to eat here on a Saturday.
Fried fish. The fried fish does not come in a child’s or senior size. The fish was very good but it had been on the rack for a while so it wasn’t hot. They do not serve lemons or tartar sauce with the fried fish.
Green beans, were good but they kind of taste like canned beans that were added seasoning and could’ve been a little bit better. The collard greens were so salty. I can’t believe they were served that way… Looked like ham meat were in them. The candy yams were like eating a dessert so so sweet if you like that great but as a side dish too sweet, the macaroni and cheese were bomb. It is really really good. The elbow macaroni is al dente and the cheese sauce is really really flavorful really creamy the fried chicken taste like that hungry man’s fried chicken TV dinner. It just had a weird aftertaste I really didn’t like it. The cornbread muffins were so yummy… sweet and buttery and just the right size. Overall the place has a great vibe. The senior plate or kids meal is just a smaller portion at $14. The guy who served my fish and chicken was a little rude to me saying that the fish does not come in kids meals size – why not? And they don’t search meats a la cart. I would rate this place a 7 out of 10 still very yummy but the salty greens did me bad

I just made it home to Atascocita with my plate of chicken & shrimp alfredo with exactly ONE cube of chicken and ZERO shrimp. They really just charged me $30 for me to have to go back in the kitchen and cook because there is more meat in the greens than the pasta. This is likely my last visit. We make it a point to patron black business but this is truly unacceptable given the price. Mikki’s had a good run but the quality has definitely drifted.

Exactly how were you going to remedy that and I live in Atascocita? I wasn’t going to travel all the way back there for it and my cheat day is something I can’t get back. You could simply accept accountability for this poor product and not attempt to deter me from sharing MY experience at your restaurant. This happened and I was displeased and furthermore disappointed by your comment as the owner.

Wake up 9:00 picked a better restaurant for a first-time trip. My Marine is a sucker for good homemade oxtails and they saved me from having to do all the work! The staff were extremely helpful professional and very sweet … This is a fabulous restaurant along with all of the required pieces: food, personnel, cleanliness!!!

Review from Austin Everything was good I got the oxtails with greens and yams only thing missing is the rice isn’t included which little odd to me. My son got the beef tips with creamy Mac and cheese and cabbage he said everything was good as well he just wanted meat to be little more tender.

The food is delicious we tried a little bit of everything fried chicken, pasta, smothered pork chops,7 sides we wanted to try everything and the pecan pie was on point let me say the food is amazing and the portions were very generous. DEFINITELY GOING BACK!! only issue I had is the staff was rude not very nice at all when we walked in no one welcomes you in nothing I had asked a lady in a black chef jacket what was recommend to order since it was our 1st time and we had traveled all the way from Austin to come here and try the food she ignored me and keep being mad about fried chicken that wasn’t ready also the young lady that served the sides and corn beard was rude she just looked at us like why were we there and served us like it was a problem but the manager did pass by and ask how was the food finally someone nice enough with good customer service skills over all the food is worth going back

And the driver said it was your fault. So now what? I didnt even order from Uber Eats. Either way I didnt get what I ordered so that looks bad on you. And I dont appreciate this response. Price is up there but the portions are hefty servers are friendly everytime i come i know im going to leave satisfied as you can see the turkey legs are huge and it was no problem separating the meat from the bones to eat without eating around the bones

Idk why anyone wouldn’t rate them 5 stars. They are awesome! I told them it was my first time and she let me taste what I wanted to order to make sure I liked it and oh my goodness!! It was like eating at maw maw house. Great food great people great portions! Could eat off the same plate 3 times!
