I’ve passed here a couple of times and wanted to stop but by the time I realized it’s there I’ve already passed it and keep going. I’ll just put it like this pound per dollar for the bbq it’s worth what you get. I got a lot of beef sticks and the jalapeño summer sauce, which both tasted great. I will be back for the beef sticks and summer sausage for sure.

I wouldn’t like to be locked in there at night time with all the animals. Reminded me of the scene from the lost boys where they open grandpas work room.

The ladies that work there were super nice and accommodating!

Great value for the $$! Wife had the Rib
lunch (4 ribs and 3 sides) and I had a regular plate of brisket with 3 sides an sampled a couple of slices of the sausage.
The ribs had good flavor and a good bite. The brisket was a good mix of lean and moist and accompanied by a unique bbq sauce which had good flavor. The ribs and sausage were the definite winners here.
Side were all good however the star was the banana pudding!!
This place had definite friendly local community vibe from the patrons that were chatting with each other.
The atmosphere was dinged because the bathrooms were a disaster with all the toilets full to the brim, making the ending note of the visit before getting back on the road quite the bummer.

Let’s start with the restaurant itself. They could have modernized it a little better. I feel they could improve with some interior design. The entrance needs some welcoming help as well. I get the atmosphere they were going for. It just seemed more like a through together trophy room. The BBQ is good. However, I’m not impressed with the sauce. It tasted more like a light gravy. In other words tasted watered down. Maybe make one more stout and strong with flavor to the side. The plates are generous for the price. I would give them another try, but I’ll give it some time before I do. I feel some change would do them good. The price posted was for Two.

The BEST Brisket that I’ve had since I moved to Texas 4 years ago!! Great food, well done taxidermy all around the room, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent variety of food ( and everything was VERY well prepared). I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the price!!

Well it’s been awhile since I’ve been here now I see why. I order the deluxe plate with ribs and brisket. The young lady cutting the meat put the worse brisket I have ever seen on the plate. First off it wasn’t brisket it was pork. I can tell the difference. Secondly the pork that she put on the plate had a greenish hue to it. Should have never been served on the first place. When I asked about it she said it was ok as rudely as she could I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what. I took the meat off the plate and through it in the trash nobody wants tainted meat. Then there were the sides. I had to tell her to give me some fresh banana pudding she insisted on giving me the last little bit in the pan that had turned brown from being left out. Then she utters underneath her breathe if someone else ask for one more thing today as if I’m putting her out. All I can say is that the place ain’t what it used to be. But the short young lady running the counter needs some time off or training in customer service.

8/31/25 I have passed this place numerous times over the years, but finally stopped to give it a try today.

I ordered a pound of sliced beef brisket and the very sweet ladies working the counter pulled a hunk of brisket out and were about to slice it when I noticed it looked as dry as shoe leather. I asked her if they did not have a better choice that was moist and fatty. She chose a different one that didn’t look a whole lot better, but at least it had some fat on it.

So if you are a fan of really moist and fatty brisket, this place is not going to be a good vibe for you. It had an excellent smoky flavor that was rich and robust, but the dryness (I don’t use sauce) far outweighed the excellent flavor. In my opinion, if you have to use a knife and fork to cut the meat, that is not quality Texas barbecue.

But if you are just looking for a mediocre barbecue experience and are going to use sauce for moisture, you will probably be satisfied. The price per pound does adequately match the quality of the meat as the prices are cheaper than a lot of other barbecue franchises.

For a quick bite on the route, we stopped here for lunch and I was vastly impressed by the food quality and quantity of this place. The portion is generous and the quality is phenomenal; my parents had been here years ago but it was my first time and I had a great experience. I ordered the deluxe plate and the sides are all amazing. I highly recommend this place. I will dare say that it is better than Buccees.

It’s a nice place to stop by and enjoy a good meal, they had a special all you can eat for around 15$ including shrimps and more things, and sides, the place is decorated as hunting themed place, very impressive for someone like me who had never seen this close such things.

Won’t lie had to check Google maps before I walked in since the window decor made me question if this was maybe a hunt & fishing store but yes part of what makes it unique – Great job guys! ✌️

Ordered chicken plate first one put on plate was raw. Young man said it was smoke I’m afraid smoke in a red tint doesn’t run onto plate when chicken is cut. Also the rice salad was spoiled could be leftovers from previous day(s) mixed in to fresh batch. Highway location food quality has gone down recently
