Only about 16 miles from Sioux Falls, Mike’s Bar is exactly what you want in a small-town bar that still has plenty of room for your whole crew. If you’ve got a group of 10–20 people, this place can handle it without feeling crowded.
The owners, Mike and Katy, are absolutely awesome. They genuinely take the time to get to know everyone—whether you’re stopping in for one quick beer or rolling in on your side-by-side or Harley to hang out all afternoon with some pizza and drinks. They make the place feel like home.
From what it sounds like, they’re lining up live music on a bunch of Saturday nights, which fits the vibe perfectly. It’s not quite a dive bar, but it’s definitely that classic, friendly small-town spot with great staff and even some solid-paying machines if you’re feeling lucky.
Whether you’re coming from the Minnesota side or the South Dakota side of the border, make the stop. Say hello, grab a drink, and enjoy the kind of place that reminds you why small-town bars are the best.

My son and I and a cousin from Milwaukee were out touring about, we had stopped to looked at a fish house, and we were close enough to stop. Formerly known as the Silver Bullet. Stopped in for a couple of beers and ended up coming in the day they had their annual catfish contest. So we ended up eating some great Deep Fat fried catfish. And talking with some of the fisherman that were out that day. A great small-town feel. We hadn’t been there in a while so it was great to stop back in.
