Reviews
Where the experience missed the mark was the service. Even with reservations, everything moved at a crawl — long waits between courses and even for drinks. The staff was friendly, but the pacing made the evening stretch far longer than expected.
Still, it’s a lovely space worth visiting for the ambiance and visual artistry of the food — just go with patience and realistic expectations.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐ (5/5)
Migrante offers a fine dining experience that balances sophistication with hospitality.
The food is flavorful and creatively infused with spices and influences from around the world. The wine pairing complements the menu beautifully, and the service is warm and attentive without being overbearing.
The Good:
•Global Inspiration: Dishes feature spices and flavors from across the globe.
•Tasty & Thoughtful Cuisine: Each plate in the set menu was well-executed and full of depth.
•Wine Pairing: Carefully selected and worth it.
•Friendly Service: Attentive, welcoming, and made the experience more enjoyable.
•Great for a Date: Elegant but relaxed—ideal for a romantic evening out.
The Not-So-Good:
•Plan Ahead: It’s best to book in advance. On weekdays, though, you might get lucky—there were a few open tables when I went.
The Bottom Line:
Migrante delivers an elevated yet cozy dining experience, with globally inspired flavors, excellent wine, and top-notch service. A great pick for date night or any special occasion that deserves something more than just dinner.
I came to Migrante for my birthday dinner with family, with high expectations after a wonderful meal at Pargot and the many glowing reviews. Unfortunately, no amount of semantics or generosity can convey my disappointment.
Service and management were notably lacking throughout the evening. Staff came by roughly every 30 minutes to refill drinks, leaving my party consistently parched as I actively scanned the room for assistance. Compounding this, the table next to us experienced an overbooking issue: their reserved table was given away after only about 10 minutes of tardiness, and they were subsequently squeezed side-by-side next to our table. No effort was made to amend or acknowledge the inconvenience caused to them or to us.
To make matters worse, part of the sink cabinet in the restroom fell onto my legs, likely leaving bruises. When I informed staff, the initial response was a casual “oh, oops,” followed later by a half-hearted “sorry,” with no real concern or follow-up.
We ordered nearly every recommended dish on the menu. The much-praised fish arrived partially uncooked through the center, while the pork chop was dry and devoid of depth, relying on an overly salty sauce to compensate. Overall, the sauces and flavors felt elementary and unrefined—disappointing for a restaurant at this price point and reputation.
Several members of my party also noted cleanliness issues: dishes arrived with residue, and the teapot had visible, unidentifiable grime buildup. When we shared our dissatisfaction with the chef, the response was unapologetic, with no attempt to acknowledge or remedy the experience.
Despite the issues, the bill was charged in full, and the birthday dessert we were told would be provided never arrived.
For a restaurant of this caliber—especially for visitors experiencing CDMX for the first time—I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. Unless you enjoy a lackluster, careless dining experience at a premium price, this is not the place.

The service was very friendly but very scattered. A large number of different servers showed up at our table at various points, but none seemed in command of the menu or drink list. When we asked them to explain about the wine pairing (which we were eager to try) they sounded clueless and unable to explain the types of wines we would be served. Even the explanations for each dish were done in a very robotic manner – simply reciting as a list of elements on each plate with no real context or explanation or story as to what the dish was meant to be about, which is what we normally love most about fine dining.
When we finally just asked for suggestions for specific wines that work well with dishes on our menu, our server simply said “Well maybe you can choose a white wine.” When we asked him to suggest what type, he seemed a bit lost.
So overall, despite a few standout bites that were truly delicious, the experience was not nearly at the caliber of comparable CDMX fine dining venues like Maximo, Pujol or Quintonil. The offerings here felt confused, like the kitchen was mostly determined to impress with style over substance, to try everything all at once instead of having a clear culinary direction or flavor profile. Definitely didn’t live up to the very high price tag. Or maybe we just caught them on an off night.
