Regional BBQ specialties served up on plates & in sandwiches in a roadhouselike setting.

Always great food and service!! Their Friday special Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop is amazing!! Brisket…always phenomenal! You can’t go wrong with their collards or pimento cheese topped fries. Add the pulled pork to the fries with their signature BBQ sauce and thank me later…..

Today special was awesome. Sweet Dubs was a combo of 1/2 rack of ribs and burnt end (my favorite). Glad we had our business meeting there today. The 5 of us will all be back. Shout out to server Richard for a great job today

Small chain BBQ place. I was at the Ballantyne location. The atmosphere is typical wrestlers BBQ motif. Woodsy, western, dim but adequately lit. Lots of tables and large bar area. The service here was fast and friendly and the food was very good (but I’m not a BBQ aficionado). I had the brisket plate with beans as a side. It comes with a few hush-puppies and pickles. Although the brisket was very good, the beans were my favorite. I also had the Pecan cobbler for dessert. Oh, and several local brews on tap. Here’s the rundown:
Beans- sweet, not too much, just right. With slivers of meat in every bite.
Pickles- tart and tangy again, not too much, but enough to purse the lips mmmm.
Hush puppies- mouth watering with a hint of sweetness.
Brisket- The moist (or fatty) is moist and tender. Almost melts in your mouth. Has a lite salty taste but begs for sauce. The lean is more tougher as expected with less salty taste.
House BBQ sauce- basic sweet and tangy great pairing with the brisket.
Spicy Mustard – different for bbq, but a great change-up to traditional bbq sauce
Spicy habanero sauce-thicker, bolder sauce with lingering heat. Unless you like a burning tongue, might want to alternate this with the house.
Pecan Cobbler- Different, kind of like a very thick pecan pie. Crusty, lots of typical filling, and topped with crushed pecans. It was good, but.

It was our first time eating here, and the food was amazing. Our server was super nice to explain the menu and how they cook with real firewood. The cocktail was perfect for dinner. As appetizers, we ordered pimento cheese fries, best I have ever had. The main course was pulled pork and bbq chicken. Each dish was size small, and each came with a side. Tacos were delicious. I don’t like pickles, but these ones were the best ones I ever had. Will definitely come back.

Wanted BBQ. Normally go to another place but Midwood was referred. I’m glad it was and I’ll refer Midwood to others. Host was kind. Menu was simple and easy to order. Abby or server was the best. She was informative and easy to talk to. I normally have to ask for sweet tea refills but Abby was on top of it and brought a refill without asking. Food came out quick and hot. Everything was great. All the meats were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Sides were also good and pickle chips were a pleasant surprise. Best restaurant outing my wife and I had in a while. Wish for more Midwood locations.

I had a fantastic experience at this place! The food was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend the sweet potatoes and ribs. The service was also top-notch. Our server, Kyle W., was incredibly friendly and attentive, always looking out for us without being overbearing. The music was great too, and it was easy to have a conversation while enjoying the ambiance. Overall, it was a memorable night out.

Ordered the brisket pineapple home slice tacos. Sounded fun and wasn’t in the mood for a sandwich.
The brisket was inedible. Literally nothing but unrendered fat and no flavor at all. I ordered 3 tacos and left eating half of one and only because I was starving. I took the rest home for the sole purpose of making this review.

Great restaurant in the south Charlotte Ballentine area. Went with a group of 9 (we had a reservation). Very nice selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. All were satisfied with their selections. Service was outstanding. Our server was great. Generous portions, great value. Everything was fresh and flavorful, temperature correct. Great drink and wine selections as well. Good location, parking kind of tight. Definitely worth the time to visit. It was a bit loud in the dining room, but we were seated in the very center.

I loved it. We ate at the Ballentine location and had a really nice time. The server was so nice, helped us with the menu. We had not been there before. I love Texas barbecue and she turned us on to some different family-style platters with brisket and ribs and burnt ends…it was great. The atmosphere is mellow and chill with good lighting so you feel like you can just sit down and hang out. There’s a bar with some TVs and sports going on too, so just kind of gives you that good vibe of- hey we’re just relaxed here, chilling out, eating some good barbecue. Look bbq is subjective. I’m from Lexington nc, love that style but also love Eastern nc bbq and have a love of Texas brisket. I was just in TX this summer. This isn’t any of those places BUT, it’s still good bbq right in Charlotte. Give em a visit, relax and enjoy some of their offerings.

Faith was a magnificent server! Food was excellent, staff was (again) amazing, and will absolutely return. The hostess staff and management seated and dealt with a party of easily over 20 people while we were seated at the bar area and handled it with an aplomb and grace. The staff was helpful for the entirety of our stay, polite and attentive. Food was on point. What a great experience, thank you again!
