Absolutely blown away by the experience at Midori Teriyaki! I had the spicy garlic chicken, and honestly, it felt like my soul was smiling with every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced—bold, savory, and just the right amount of heat. It wasn’t just a meal, it was a moment of pure food happiness.

When I asked for chopsticks, they handed them to me with a smile—it’s the little touches that make you feel seen and appreciated.

If I had to describe the experience in Japanese:
うま味が爆発した!
心が満たされた

…By the end of the meal, all I could say was: ごちそうさまでした

Highly recommend this spot if you want food that not only fills your stomach but uplifts your spirit.

I had the namesake chicken teriyaki from this place. Unlike some other places, it doesn’t give you a side salad by default, so it was just the grilled chicken thighs over rice

With the main part – the chicken – I thought it was mostly average. It didn’t feel juicy at all – kind of like it was pre-sliced and just sitting there. Thankfully, it wasn’t super dry and chewy – but there was practically no moisture with this chicken. What I did like was the grill marks on a lot of the pieces, as a lot of them had a good char.

My main issue with this, even more than the lack of juiciness from the meat, was that there just wasn’t enough teriyaki sauce. There was some on the chicken, sure, but when mixing this with rice the rice just felt very dry. I’ve had teriyaki before where the sauce has been significantly more plentiful than it was here – some places even give you an entire separate cup of teriyaki sauce to use. There wasn’t close to enough of that sauce present here.
The rice was fine – nothing special.

Portion-wise, I got about 300g rice and 270g chicken in this dish. It’s not a bad portion size, but when compared to other teriyaki places, I’ve gotten almost double that amount of chicken for less than the price that I did here. Compared to other things in the neighborhood, the price for the lunch isn’t terrible, but comparing to other similar spots doesn’t reflect great on this place

Overall, I think it’s a fine spot for average teriyaki – and I’d be interested to get the spicy garlic chicken at some point, but don’t come here expecting too much in seattle’s native food. 6.5/10

Fast service, good food at reasonable prices as much as ambiance don’t go there. But food and service is quick and tasty

Fast, friendly service, super easy to order online. Fair prices, large portions. Very good chicken teriyaki, steamed broccoli cooked perfectly, add side salad for a buck. Highly recommended!

Very soulless place, tablet ordering only. $15 teriyaki doesn’t come with salad, ( I think all Seattle-teriyaki should come with a salad) rice pressed flat under chicken (never seen that!), average chicken but smothered in sauce, and very salty sauce at that. Quite a gut-bomb of a meal; didn’t feel so great afterwards.

First Impression: Front of house needs some work but the food makes up for it. My Chicken Teriyaki was flavourful, fresh from the kitchen and almost perfect…….they skimped out on the rice unfortunately. A busy place for sure. Not really a “sit down and eat here” kind of establishment, more of a grab n’ go! The ordering system is efficient & the “order board” (“In the Kitchen“ and “Ready for Pickup”) looks like something you would see at the airport showing Arrivals & Departures. It appeals to all walks of life, young & old!!

You can pay with cash at the counter, but don’t be surprised when you walk in and see a lot of people standing around. They’ve already placed their order on a kiosk and they’re waiting for their number to be called. There isn’t a lot of flexibility in the menu and I think that’s what makes the flow of service very easy for this company is a very good model of business. There is some dine in seating. Most people just walk out with the container in hand no bag ready to eat everything is pretty much teriyaki based chicken they charge you extra for spicy so I would recommend getting regular and then just adding your own sauce for spice so I don’t have any pictures. I already ate.

This Teriyaki place is right around the corner from my office and is my go to lunch place.

Everything is great about this restaurant, fast service, easy online order system that doesn’t fail, good portions, and awesome taste. I can never get bored of the Garlic Spicy chicken. It’s perfectly balanced, not too spicy, not too sweet or not too garlicy. I usually skip the rice and just get an extra portion of salad. Even the salad dressing is pretty amazing, not sure if they make it in the house or get a packaged one.

Would highly recommend this place, no complaints!

Update 2-26-2025: ok, much much better!!

Update 7-2024: this time I ordered the garlic chicken. Food tasted OK definitely not worth the rave that I gave before..

So next time I’m in Seattle, I’ll skip this place

Though I really did like was the fast service
Food was so so good
Ate here twice, so good!

Visited and wanted a quick and good lunch option. Ordered the Garlic spicy chicken and crispy chicken. The crispy was a little too crispy for my taste but still pretty good.

The garlic was on point.
